ITF Men Futures in Asia - July-Aug 2022
There will be a couple of $15K ITFs at Colombo, Sri Lanka and a bunch of Indian players have secured a main draw berth in addition to a whole lot in the qualifying list.
Notably, we have Manish Sureshkumar, SD Prajwal Dev, Digvijay Pratap Singh, Nitin Kumar Sinha, and Ishaque Iqbal in the top-8 of the direct acceptance list. Adil Kalyanpur, Siddharth Vishwakarma, and Dalwinder Singh have also secured a main draw spot.
Good luck to our players and I hope the tournament ensures safety for all the international contingents (amidst all the political chaos )

Re: ITF Men Futures in Asia - July-Aug 2022
Recently Australia-Srilanka test series was played there. So, they did manage to pay prize money for that. So, I guess $15K won't be that much of an issue.
Hope this series goes ahead. Finally, at least futures level we are getting some tournaments back in Asia. These 2 are Srilanka, simultaneously there are 2 futures in Malaysia followed by 2 in Indonesia, 3 futures in Korea in August and 2 more in Japan in August-September.
Indian players are sufferings due to no events in Asia for past 2 years ( except few in India itself). Now they have the opportunity to get some easier points.
Hope challenger level tournaments also come back soon on calender.

Re: ITF Men Futures in Asia - July-Aug 2022
18 Indians are in the main draw of first week of Srilanka futures and seeds 3 to 8 are all Indians- Manish Sureshkumar, SD Prajwal Dev, Digvijay Pratap Singh, Nitin Kumar Sinha, Adil Kalyanpur and Siddharth Vishwakarma. Seems like an Indian futures.
Our young 16 year old Rushil Khosala has got a wild card into main draw but runs into top seeded Frenchman in first round.

Re: $15K Seremban (Malaysia) ITF - July 2022
Could a moderator please change the title of this thread to "ITF Futures in Asia - July-Aug 2022"?
There is another one this week in Seremban, Malaysia. There were 8 Indians in the qualifying draw in Seremban, only one of whom lost in Q1. Four of the Indians made the FQR, of whom 2 qualified in -- Parth Agarwal (8th seed in the qualifying) and 16 year old Aryan Shah, who thrashed the second seed 61 61.
Including the two Indian qualifiers, there are 7 Indians in the singles main draw, none of whom are seeded. Aryan Shah gets to play a local 17-year-old wildcard, with a similar junior ranking as him; a good opportunity to gain his first ATP point. There are a couple of Indian pairs in the doubles main draw. Vishnu Vardhan (partnering an American) is seeded third in the doubles.

^^ OK, done. Mod, Jay ... The tour then moves to Korea for 3 events in August as well, so we could continue the thread if any Indians go there.

Re: ITF Men Futures in Asia - July-Aug 2022
Not seen too many Indians go to Korea to play especially at futures level or for that matter to Japan ( where too there a couple of futures later).
But, lot of Indian participation is guaranteed in Sri lanka, Malaysia or for couple of futures in Indonesia in August.

The Japanese seem to be learning from the Indians that doubles is a good way to prolong a career. Top half of the QF draw in Seremban contains 3 pure-Japanese pairs, plus 3rd seeded Vishnu Vardhan and his American partner.

Re: ITF Men Futures in Asia - July-Aug 2022
6 Indians thru to QF in Srilanka futures. There were 6 Indians seeds from seeds 3 to 8. Out of these 3 have gone thru to QF- 3rd Manish Sureshkumar, 4th seed Digvijay Pratap Singh and 6th seed Nitin Kumar Sinha. Other 3 seeds got upset and their places were taken by 21 year old Fardeen Quamar who upset 7th seed Adil Kalanpur, 19 year old Karan Singh who beat an Italian player who had upset 7th seed Siddharth Vishwakarma in earlier round and 24 year old Rishi Reddy who upset 5th seed SD Prajawal Dev.
2 all Indian match-ups in QF- Manish vs Nitin and Digvijay vs Karan. Fardeen and Rishi meet top 2 seeded European player who remain the biggest thorn in an Indian player winning the title here.

Re: ITF Men Futures in Asia - July-Aug 2022
Top 4 seeds are all thru to the semi finals of Srilanks futures first week. Top 2 seeds from France and Ukraine and seeds #3 and #4, Manish Sureshkumar and Digivijay Pratap Singh. Only Digivijay had to fight for 3 sets to win against young Karan Singh. Rest were all easy straight sets wins surprisingly Manish too against Nitin Sinha.
Now, can Manish/ Digvijay topple higher ranked foreign players ?
