I hope this win puts Manish back on track. He was doing so well before the pandemic.

20 Indians in main draw in Sri Lanka this week. 9 are thru to second round. 16 year old Rushil Khosla gets his first ATP point as he beat a fellow wild card from USA in first round.

All our 6 seeds went thru. There are 3 all Indian matches and hope other 3 Indian - Manish, Digivijay and SD Prajwal Dev are able to beat their foreign opponents to make 6 Indians in QF like last week.

6 Indians in the QF in Sri Lanka this week -- only one Indian seed (Nitin Sinha) lost, to compatriot Rishi Reddy. Manish plays Rishi, Digvijay plays Adil, Siddharth Vishwakarma plays 2-Vanshelboim, and 5-Prajwal Dev plays Thailand's Kovapitukted in the QF. Manish is also in the doubles SF.

Rishi Reddy is having decent couple of weeks, reaching his second consecutive QF here where he was not seeded to do so. Top seeded Frenchman got upset by Thai Kovapitukted here which significant result. If Prajwal can beat the Thai tomorrow, we can have 3 Indians in SF.

At least one finalist assured. Nice! Some of these players are really helping themselves with some points. Manish, especially.

These 2 weeks in Sri Lanka do benefit mainly 3 Indian players in their rankings- Manish Sureshkumar (1 title and 1 SF ) will move up somewhere around 520, Digivijay Pratap Singh ( 2 SF's ) and S.D. Prajwal Dev (R2 and final) will both move inside top 700 at their career highs.

SD Prajwal Dev is in entry list of Malaysia futures next week with Abhinav Sanjeev and Vishnu Vardhan. After that Manish and Mukund join SD Prajwal Dec and Abhinav Sanjeev for Indonesia futures for 2 weeks. Digvijay appears in the initial entry list for Korea futures in 2 weeks time.

Top seed Mukund is thru SF of Jakarta futures this week with 3 easy wins including 60 61 win over Duck Hee Lee today. Other than Mukund, there are 3 Japanese in the SF.

SD Prajwal Dev upset a seed in first round and lost in a close 3 setter against Japanese second seed in QF.

Third seeded Manish got upset in first round.

[QF] 1-Mukund Sasikumar (IND, 433) d. 6-Lee Duck-hee (KOR, 599) 60 61

Duck-hee Lee was ranked as high as 130 in singles when he was 19 years old (five years ago). Sadly, his career appears to be waning now. But that is a very impressive scoreline for Mukund, who needs to get back on track himself -- having been ranked 229 when he was 22 (three years ago).

It is a good win indeed, for Mukund. He is quite talented, if he can put things together and start winning consistently. Hope he make a move now.
