That was a very tough pair to be playing in a Challenger, both players ranked in the 50s. But then, Divij-Artem did knock out an even higher-ranked pair in R1 (the top seeds, including Jamie Murray).

Ramkumar is in the singles main draw entry list for the Nottingham Challenger, starting Monday June 6th. No sign of Yuki (who isn't using his PR, which makes it impossible for him to make even the qualifying draw).

Bopanna is back partnering Shapovalov at the ATP Stuttgart on grass. They play Erlich/Karatsev in R1. Karatsev lost in Q1 of singles. So the Russians are going to play the grass circuit despite being banned from Wimbledon. Medvedev is the top seed in singles at s'Hertogenbosch. Murray is in the singles main draw in Stuttgart for next week (having lost the Surbiton Challenger SF to Denis Kudla in 3 sets).

Re: Grass court tournaments 2022 (Challengers & ATP)
Actually, the lowest-ranked player in the singles qualifying at Nottingham (Strombach) is ranked 762, so Yuki could have got into that qualifying draw (which has 2 other players ranked below Yuki). It is infuriating that he isn't playing there. Just utter unprofessionalism in managing the schedule (unless he has decided that his future will be focused on doubles).

Re: Grass court tournaments 2022 (Challengers & ATP)
That is an unpleasant result, losing to a (slightly) lower-ranked Frenchman on grass...
2nd seeded Ramkumar/JP Smith have a tough R1 in doubles too, against Jack Sock (2-times Wimbledon doubles champion) and Lucas Pouille. For the life of me, I don't see how the latter pair can be unseeded.

And to make the matter more unpleasant, not only his opponent was lower ranked , but is an unadulterated clay courter having just parachuted on Grass courts after playing 7 tournaments on Clay and despite this the FrenchMan turned out to be a big challenge, in fact Ram in his last year's Grass court form would have had him for breakfast.

Ram seems to be low on confidence. He needs a couple of wins to get him going. Hopefully, they will come when it matters -- at Roehampton in the Wimbledon qualifiers.

For losing you colour red. Green is for victory
