Unranked 20-year old Madhwin Kamath has taken the first set off the 4th seed, and is up by a break in the second:

[R1] 4-Robert Strombachs (GER,749) vs. Q-Madhvin Kamath (IND,NR) 36 12

Madhvin only reached 263 in the junior rankings in 2019, and has a career-high ATP ranking of 1677 (March 2021). Looks like another Indian player whose career was rudely stalled by Covid, but is now flowering again. He qualified into the main draw at Indore and Gurugram last November, Bhopal this month, and now New Delhi. It is really ludicrous that players don't even earn a single ATP point for qualifying into main draws of Futures.

Rishab Agarwal putting up a massive fight against 3rd seeded Manish Sureshkumar, who was serving for the match at 5-2 in the final set but has been broken:

[R1] Rishab Agarwal (IND,989) vs. 3-Manish Sureshkumar (IND,658) 63 46 46

Manish served it out at 5-4 in the third set to go through. Rishab has been unlucky to draw the top seed last week, and the 3rd seed this week, and to his credit he lost very narrowly to both (winning the first set in both matches).

Full second round results-

[R2] (1) Siddharth Rawat (IND,581) d. Dev Javia (IND,1038) 61 61
[R2] Enzo Wallert (FRA,869) d. (7) Dostanbek Tashbulatov (KAZ,905) 63 64
[R2] (Q) Siddharth Vishwakarma (IND,2052) d. (Q) Madhvin Kamath (IND,NR) 63 63
[R2] (6) Nitin Kumar Sinha (IND,912) d. Alexis Canter (GBR,1177) 62 64
[R2] Digvijay Pratap Singh (IND,1286) d. Maks Kasnikowski (POL,952) 46 76(4) 61
[R2] (3) Manish Sureshkumar (IND,658) d. (WC) Faisal Qamar (IND,1434) 52 retd
[R2] S D Prajwal Dev (IND,984) d. Yann Wojcik (POL,916) 61 36 75
[R2] (Q) Dhakshineswar Suresh (IND,NR) d. Ishaque Eqbal (IND,1105) 63 63

Very good for Digivijay over a player who was ranked close to top 10 in juniors and ran Arjun close last week. Also good win for SD Prajwal over a higher ranked foreign player.

Only1 foreign player remains in the draw.

A few surprise results today, mainly among Indian players, especially Ishaque losing badly:

[R2] Q-Dhakshineshwar Suresh (IND, 1558) d. Ishaque Eqbal (IND, 1108) 63 63
[R2] Q-Siddhartha Vishwakarma (IND, 2052) d. Q-Madhwin Kamath (IND, UNR) 63 75
[R2] 1-Siddharth Rawat (IND, 568) d. Dev Javia (IND, 1038) 61 61 - no surprise, except for the scoreline

Some nice wins for Indian players over foreigners:

[R2] Digvijay Pratap Singh (IND, 1286) d. Maks Kasnikowski (POL, 952) 46 76(4) 61

(OK, I see Sameer has already posted the rest of the results...).

The singles SF and doubles final will be all-India affairs. After 6 weeks of Futures (with an ATP tournament and a Challenger thrown in between), the Indian second-tier has come into its own.

[QF] 1-Siddharth Rawat (IND, 568) d. Enzo Wallert (FRA,869) 61 76(1)
[QF] Q-Siddharth Vishwakarma (IND, 2054) d. 6-Nitin Kumar Sinha (IND, 912) 64 63
[QF] 3-Manish Sureshkumar (IND, 658) d. Digvijay Pratap Singh (IND, 1286) 46 64 76(4)
[QF] SD Prajwal Dev (IND, 984) d. Q-Dhakshineshwar Suresh (IND, 1558) 76 63

27 year old Siddharth Vishwakarma has been the surprise package this week, Nitin the big disappointment over the 3 weeks (apart from Mukund) in that Nitin failed to outperform his ranking despite promising much last November.

The top two seeds will play each other in the doubles final tomorrow -- 1-Vishnu Vardhan/Anirudh Chandrasekhar vs. 2-Yuki Bhambri/Saketh Myneni. Yuki's myopic playing choices remain as frustrating as ever.

On hindsight, not sure what the purpose was for Yuki playing three weeks of doubles. I assume this is just was essentially just for practice and slowly improving match fitness. He might have been better of playing singles in at least one of the 3 weeks and getting some ATP singles points to move his ranking up.

Yes, strange decision by Yuki and Saketh too. If they really want to sepecialise in doubles, they could have played some challengers. Not checked but I think Yuki will have a PR for doubles too which can get them into challengers.
Anyway, they easily win the title this week too

In singles SF, Sid Rawat is into his third straight final with a close 3 set win against Siddharth Vishwakarma. He will meet SD Prajwal Dev who is in his first futures final having beaten Manish in straight sets in SF. Third straight SF loss for Manish in these futures series.
