Looks like Ankita is fit again post covid. Hope she gets her ranking back to its normal level or higher. All the best in the next round.

[QF] (4) Ankita Raina (IND)/ Rutuja Bhosale (IND) d. Merel Hoedt (NED)/ Alexandra Osborne (AUS) 63 64

Next,

[SF] (4) Ankita Raina (IND)/ Rutuja Bhosale (IND) vs. (2) Jaimee Fourlis (AUS) / Ellen Perez (AUS)

Tough matches as you would expect at this stage. Asia won back to back titles in Canberra 2 weeks back and is going for her third consecutive title in Australia.

Terrific performances by Ankita Raina this week. That win over 2-Arina Rodionova (CH 116) this morning was really superb (and of course an upset). In doubles, of course, she and Rutuja have lived up to their seeding. Great stuff!!

She lost in both singles and doubles today.

[SF] (8) Ankita Raina (IND,341) l. (3) Asia Muhammad (USA,175) 06 16

[SF] (4) Ankita Raina (IND)/ Rutuja Bhosale (IND) l. (2) Jaimee Fourlis (AUS) / Ellen Perez (AUS) 26 16

Surprisingly tame losses. I guess tiredness got to her.

Good week in Australia for us. Sowjanya making it to R2 after upsetting the top seed in R1, Ankita making it to the SF in the single and doubles(with Rutuja). Let us hope that we do better next week.

Today's shockingly one-sided losses suggest that Ankita ran out of steam after a tough, long week of singles and doubles. But a good week nonetheless.
