And RamK decides to go in to net on every serve and gets passed easily on weaker second serves to get broken at the start of third set.

Coupld of tight holds by both players and Yuki will now serve at 2-1 in the third set.

I am only following scores. RamK's second serve appears to be fodder for Yuki.

From 40-0, Yuki was in a bit of bother at deuce but an ace and than an amazing forehand to hold for 3-1

RamK was in a bother at 30-30 but fires 2 aces ( first one on second serve) to hold for 2-3. He is hanging in there.

I post something about RamK's second serve and he wins two crucial points on his second serve. Well done RamK.

It is working for me. Few more great returns by Yuki to break RamK for 5-2 and he has a chance to serve for the match now.

Great job from Yuki to qualify in to the main draw. Let us hope for a couple of wins in the main draw as well.

Potential opponents for Yuki: Alejandro D Fokina, Aljaz Bedene, Jan-Lenard Struff, John Millman, Jordan Thompson, another qualifier. It might appear that playing a fellow qualifier would be the best option. However, Thiem awaits in round 2 for the winner.

[R1] Yuki Bhambhri (NR, IND) vs Aljaz Bedene (SLO, 62)

The winner plays Coric in the second round.

Terrific wins by Yuki against fellow Indians ... Really happy to see, Yuki back on the court and winning these matches ... Now, hoping he will continue with his good form ad win against Aljaz Bedene.

Yuki out-played Prajnesh but Ram had his chances against Yuki.

Yuki has shown who is boss against these two, now a match against sumit would be interesting.

Looks like he is back with a vengeance to make up for lost time.

I am happy that RamK was able to play it this closely. What a quick comeback to form, from Yuki!

Yes, RamK played really well today. Towards later part of the match, he was just drilling those backhands with power and troubling Yuki. If he can hit backhands like those really do not know why keeps slicling those all the the time. Only few inopportune moments where he came in on a relatively week second seves, he was punished by Yuki. If only he can time his forays to the better and forgets about slicing his backhand, he can be a top 100 player or better with his huge serve, great volleying skills and forehand which are all weapons.

Btw, this is for the first time in many years that we had 3 players in ATP main draws in 3 consecutive weeks- Sumit in Argentina than RamK in Doha and now Yuki in Dubai. And it does not include the current India #1.
