Re: US Open 2020
Djokovic is trying a coup in his battle against the ATP within the bubble and with Federer and Nadal both missing, and it looks like both Bopanna and Nagal have signed up to his camp.
Curious if anyone has more color on their decision.

Re: US Open 2020
And he got a bit nervous after 5-0 and missed 5 matchpoints but converted the sixth one to take the match for his first grand slam win.
[R1] Sumit Nagal (IND,122) d. Bradley Klahn (USA,128) 61 63 36 61
C,mon. Nobody in the forum to celebrate our singled grand slam win after 7 years.

Re: US Open 2020
Awesome win by Sumit! Clearly, the US Open is a happy place for him after his stirring battle with Federer last year and then getting his milestone first GS win! Hoping to see a strong performance from him in the second round as well

Re: US Open 2020
I watched the match in bits and pieces. Sumit played well to dominate his patchy opponent. It's a big deal for Indian Tennis to see a player make it R2 at a grandslam after so many years. Saki probably was the only one who was close enough to R2.

Sumit's win prodded me back into the forum after 4+ months, my longest time away since the forum became a part of my life around 2 decades ago

Re: US Open 2020
Fabulous that Sumit won — our first Slam singles win in 7 years — and did so with such consummate ease after a mild hiccup in the third set. Looking forward to Thiem in R2!!

Re: US Open 2020
The consummate ease of the 61 63 36 61 win is what stands out. Great idea to have played in Prague last week!

Re: US Open 2020
Surprisingly his live ranking has edged down to 123. Lots of other lower ranked players also winning presumably...

Re: US Open 2020
I watched a short highlights package. Two big surprises: Sumit was volleying quite often, and very effectively too; and he has dyed his hair blonde ( )

Re: US Open 2020
Sir Andrew Murray came back from two sets down against Nishioka to win two tiebreaks and then win the final set 6-4. Venus Williams lost to the 20th seed, sadly.
