He is in with his PR. He has not played even any warm-up events and has not played anywhere since May 2018. Just turning up to pick up first round money which is big now.
Yes it it huge, approx USD 65k for R1 loser and Prajnesh has got a high chance to earn atleast earn $130k

Thanks a lot, Jaydeep. Just found an earlier article on net where I found that Safwat had also played in French open 2018 as a lucky loser and at that time he was the first Egyptian to play grand slams since 1996 ( Tamer El Sawy ).

Safwat was the guy Prajnesh beat in the final of the Nanning Challenger in Kunming 2018, soon after his Davis Cup win in Tianjin. And a few weeks later, he was ranked one slot below Prajnesh, and got the LL spot in the French Open because Prajnesh had left the venue to play a Challenger in Italy. So their fates have been intertwined for quite awhile.

Ismail el-Shafei is a player I remember well as a contemporary and rival of the Amritraj brothers. In 1974, Vijay lost in R2 at Wimbledon to Ken Rosewall, who beat Stan Smith in the SF, after the latter had beaten el-Shafei in the QF. I’m surprised that his highest rank was only 34.

What wonderful news that Prajnesh finally gets a dream draw in a Slam. Tatsuma Ito got the AsiaPacific wildcard this year, but he’s past his prime and Prajnesh has an excellent head to head record against him.
Great opportunity to make R2 of a Slam for the first time, and then try upsetting one of the greats of the game.

Nothing less than R2 will do.
I'm not sure about this. ATP shows that Prajnesh and Ito have never played each other.

No pressure but it's hard to think of a better opportunity to win a R1 match in a slam

Lucky break for Prajnesh, would say he has a 70% chance to make it to R2.

Let us tap the brakes on Praj making the second round. Whenever we have looked ahead like that, bad karma has come to bite us. It is not a done deal, and Praj's wrist can act up. I think there is at least a 30-40% chance for him to lose to Ito.

Leander (ranked 110) couldn’t make it into the Doubles draw. He didn’t get a wildcard, but may get one for Mixed Doubles.

Bopanna/Uchiyama play the Bryan twins in R1.
Sharan/Sitak play Carreno-Busta/Sousa in R1.

Tough start for us in men’s doubles.

Sania/Nadiia play Xinyun Han (52) and Lin Zhu (125) in R1. They are slated to meet 9th seeds Yingying Duan (18) and Saisai Zheng (23) in R2.

Rohan will have to spring one of the biggest upsets of all the R1 draws.

Can't see how Leander can get into any of the slams, in the men's doubles, unless he pairs up with a French/English/American and can get a WC
