:Offtopic: Players who are not comfortable (from SL) should be given the license to pull out without penalty.

:Offtopic: PKB, you missed out Sea of Galilee, Nazareth, Haifa, Eilat, the Negev Desert, Mitzpe Ramon, and of course, the Golan Heights! :-) . At least. Yes, amazing place!

No news at all, anywhere. I thought ITF had said that the new venue would be picked no later than Sep 9th. I guess they haven't.

:Offtopic: I did visit and "swim" (or rather float on my back) in the Dead Sea, and collected a handful of its famously healing mud. Definitely worth doing!

As the Jordan Valley is taking up lot of space in this thread , wouldn't even mind the tie being played in Golan Heights ;) , but Lahore ,Islamabad, never never..

So, we are playing Davis Cup in Golan Heights? That would be fun.... This thread is totally off-topic, but it is good info.

Is Leander Paes playing? Cuz if he is, by the time he's finished with the hapless Pakistanis, they would have renamed the place to Goan Heights! :p

On a serious note the tie is now scheduled in Islamabad in last week of November. But, ITF has still kept open the window of neutral venue as there will be a security review before this month end.

The final outcome will all depend on how effectively and strongly , SVENGALI Khanna handles this issue and conveys in no uncertain terms to the ITF about not playing in Pakistan
The consensus in the camp and the entire population is very obvious.

But the Dear Leader with his personal interest's , and his brotherly love with PTF chief might very well soft pedal on this issue and through his cronies present a doomsday scenario and still might force us to make that treacherous trip.

I do not think we should go barring very high level government security.

Even if the IAF is permitted to provide air cover, I don't see any point in even considering going to Islamabad to play tennis!

Haggerty won the ITF election by a huge margin, edges past Khanna who managed a tally of 93 votes

From the onset Bhupathi had his reservations, and today he has indicated that even the players too are not keen , The entire bug land is seething with anti India sentiments and talking of nuclear war , and to set foot in that region is utter madness. Only if Khanna could take a firm stand on this.
