And Colin Sinclair completes a straight sets win over Di Wu. 6-2 , 6-3 , is he going to be the dark horse and the surprise package of the tournament.

This tournament offers one of the easiest passage to a GS entry and really cannot understand why our guys ignore it , the tournament also offers unique chance for even some unknowns to thrive , Purav Raja almost made it to the finals , with notable scalps on the way and at a time when he had given up on his singles career.

Glad Pranjala pulled off a close win and now she will face an unseeded player in the QF that upset the 3rd seed Chinese Fang Yin Xun.

True, I can understand for Prajnesh who had played so many matches in last 2 weeks. But, for Saketh and Sumit who will not even get a chance to compete in the AO qualifying draw this was a golden opportunity to try to make it to AO,

Arjun too lost in straight sets.

[R1] Arjun Kadhe (IND,352) l. (7) Renta Tokuda (JPN,298) 67(3) 16

Expected a better fight from Arjun against a slightly higher ranked player. Arjun's singles game has declined a bit in the past few months.

Yes, Arjun is struggling in the singles.
Bala and Arjun saved multiple match points to beat a local pairing of Di Wu and Rigele Te in the long match tie-break ... In the semis, they r facing the local top-seeds Gong and Ze.

Yes, that is how Yuki Bhambri/Michael Venus played in the AO, and made R3 of the main draw, in 2014.
Venus, of course, has since become a top doubles player (and won a Slam doubles title). But it all began for him in partnership with Yuki at the AO wildcard playoff!

Bhambri/Venus had demonstrated their potency by beating 10th seeded Rojer/Tecau in straight sets in R2 at the AO 2014.

Yuki is a really good doubles player, and if he ever decides to focus on doubles, he will easily be top 25 or something.
