Wow! This is a good win for Karman. Her first serve percentage was a lowly 44% -- she needs to bring that to a more reasonable number if she wants to get in to the top 100. It is going to be fun watching Ankita and Karman battle to be our top-ranked player.

Re: Nov/Dec Women's $25K ITF tournaments - India
The Ankita/Karman singles rivalry and doubles partnership are the most exciting aspects of Indian women's tennis as we come to the end of 2018. More power to the two of them -- and all the best to Karman in the final.
I still think it would have been sensible for them to go for the AO wildcard tournament this week, and then return to the India circuit. But that they both made the singles SF and doubles final is ample reward for the choice they made.

I too thought it was a bit better to try the AO wildcard and comeback, but didn't think it was a crime for them not to go, as it is a home event and also as foreign travel could have disrupted their rhythm for the next week. Certainly worked for Karman, who got a big win and is in the final.

It's great to see two of our best players coming together and winning.
Between two Karman now holds an edge. But it's too close to call.

At Solapur QR1, this wildcard Amreen Naaz got ousted by British player Eden Silva in 32 minutes, winning just 4 points to 48. When will these organizers ever learn to select the right players for WCs especially when the entry list is full of foreign players?

Wondering what happened to all our players, Zeel, Mihika, Mahak, Riya, etc. etc.
Did all of them get MDWC or all of them skipping the event?

Mahak and Zeel are not in the entry list at all. Mihika and Riya must have got main draw wild cards along with Rutuja.IndiaSports wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 5:34 am Wondering what happened to all our players, Zeel, Mihika, Mahak, Riya, etc. etc.

In the meantime, Karman is a break down in the first of the final at 3-4.

Its sad, they chose not to play, I remember last year this time around both of them really had very good results.
Its been a silent year for both of them, Mahak did play couple of good matches but nothing much.

Meanwhile, for Karman a top 100 player might be a bit too much, she is putting up a fight though. Most of the games are going to deuce.
Unlike her previous matches Zidansek made a very strong start today. 75% first serve in and 70% points won on first serve is very good.
hope she falls a bit and Karman picks up
