I do not think it is mandated by ATP or WTA. ITF entry lists are out in public domain, 3 weeks prior to tournament with all withdrawals updated. I think for ATP and WTA organised tournament, it is available to players thru their player logins. There are some who have access thru these player logins and post these entry lists on various forums.

It is upto tournament organizers to publish their entry list on the website or not. Not everyone does it.

Pranjala defeated Mihika very comfortably: 6-3, 6-0.
Mihika clearly didn't deserve that WC, except for the fact that she is a localite.

Naoko Eto ranked 1224 in the world was playing in the qualifying event.
What happened to all our Indian players, Zeel Desai, Riya Bhatia, Prerna Bhambri, dint they want to play, atleast for the prize money?
Anyone knows what happened?

Disaster.
They gave the 4th WC to some player from Hong Kong.
Karman faces top seed Saisai Zheng in Rd1.
Ankita faces Rutuja.
  :damn: :damn:

Yes,crappy main draw. I am not sure if Pranjala herself asked to play in the qualies to get couple more matches and extra points. How else one can explain giving a main draw wild card to a Hongkong player ranked 865. But, even in that case they should have given it to some other like Zeel or Riya.Really do not understand why they did not even try to sign in for qualies ?

Very good win by Mahak over 374th ranked Russian.

[Q2] (3) Pranjala Yadlapalli (IND,280) vs. Oskana Kalashnikova (GEO,NR)

[Q2] Mahak Jain (IND,658) vs. (2) Hiroko Kuwata (JPN,272)

Kalashnikova is unrated now and mainly plays doubles but has a career high ranking of 156. Still, a match which Pranjala should win in current form.

It will be tough Mahak against a top 300 player. But, let us see.

The only logical explanation is if they have some Wild Card exchange programme with some event in Hong Kong.
But disappointed with our players and fail to understand why so many of them did not enter.
Lets hope Karman beats the top seed given her current form, going to be uphill task

I doubt it is anything logical, and the likely explanation is that the HK player knew someone in the organizing committee or the sponsors.

Someone should really ask them the reason why they did so, anyways they are answerable to anyone I guess.

MSLTA Secretary Sunder Iyer's wife Sheetal Iyer is a permanent fixture at HKG in her official capacity since atleast past 3 years for the annual WTA tournament and even for the 4 ITF Mens Futures held in HKG every year, And at times there are even linseman & lineswoman imported from Pune/Bombay officiating in the big WTA in HKG, So this connection has most probably to do with the HKG girl get an WC

Pranjala qualifies to the main draw.
She beats Klashnikova 6-3,6-3.
Very good win , hope she avoid Khumkhum and Lin Zhu in the main draw.

Yes, Pranjala qualifies for the main-draw with convincing win over Kalashnikova ... Mahak gave decent performance against the top-275 ranked Kuwata in her loss.

[Q2] (3) Pranjala Yadlapalli (IND,280) bt Oksana Kalashnikova (GEO,UNR) 63 63
[Q2] (WC) Mahak Jain (IND,658) l (2) Hiroko Kuwata (JPN,272) 36 46

[R1] (WC) Mahak Jain (IND)/ Mihika Yadav (IND) vs (3) Natela Dzalamidze (RUS)/ Veronika Kudermetova (RUS)
[R1] Luksika Kumkhum (THA)/ Prarthana Thombare (IND) vs Shu-Ying Hsieh (TPE)/ Natalija Kostic (SRB)

Pranjala gets Luksika. Sad Mahak couldn’t get the LL spot
Main draw now only begins Tuesday because of the ODI clash.
