Considering his struggle against his Chinese opponent I was expecting this loss, but not this one-sided

Saki is facing Japanese youngster, Renta Tokuda.

At $150K Ningbo Challenger 2018, China

[R1] (Q) Saketh Myneni (IND,328) vs Renta Tokuda (JPN,307)

Disappointing loss for Ramk after winning the first set ... After dominating the first set he lost next two sets in the tie-breaks, must miss few match points also.

At $150K Ningbo Challenger 2018, China

[R1] (4) Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND,127) l Yunseong Chung (KOR,294) 61 67(7) 67(2)

What's more disappointing is he lost after being a break up in both the second and the third sets. He was 4-1 up in the third when I stopped following.

Safwat was ranked one spot above Prajnesh and made it as LL at the French Open. But Prajnesh has dominated him all year, more so over time. Good to see!!

Looks like nerves against a younger, less fancied player who Ramkumar seemingly dominated in the first half of the match.

RamK served for the match at 5-4 in the second set and 5-3 in the third set and got broken both the times. He also had couple of matchpoint in the second set tie break- one on his own serve which he could not convert.

Terrible loss for RamK. A match which should have won in straight sets.

Sumit’s match against Thomas Fabbiano (ITA, 131), who beat Yuki and Wawrinka at Wimbledon this year, is at 10:30am on Court 8.

Saketh follows Sumit onto the same court, where he plays 20 year old Rento Tokuda (JPN, 307).

Due to rain the matches have been shifted indoors.

In Sumit's match against Fabbiano, Sumit got broken in very first game but broke right back and them broke Fabbiano again in 10th game to take the first set 6-4.

Now let's see how Sumit takes it forward now. In his recent matches, Sumit has made a good start but then has faltered.

Fabbiano takes the second set 6-4. Again 2 breaks to 1 but this time Fabbiano gets 2 breaks against 1 by Sumit. This is a close match so far though in the first 2 sets.

And he lost in the third set.

[R1] Sumit Nagal (IND,316) l. (3) Thomas Fabbiano (ITA,122) 64 46 26

Similar pattern to his recent losses, losing after winning the first set although this time the opponent was a highly ranked player.

Sumit lost 64 46 26 :(.
Sadly, he cannot sustain dominance, except when he is in peak form. Encouraging first couple of sets nonetheless.

Saketh loses in straight sets against the young Japanese player.

At $150K Ningbo Challenger 2018, China

[R1] (Q) Saketh Myneni (IND,328) l. Renta Tokuda (JPN,307) 36 26

So, only Prajnesh remains for us in singles here.

Next,

[R2] Prajnesh Gunneswaran (IND,170) vs. Zhe Li (CHN,253)

Prajnesh is 2-0 in head to head against Li and hope he continues that dominance.
