Re: ATP Tournaments - September-October 2018
Couldn’t follow the match. It’s MahaAshtami after all, the biggest day on the Bengali Hindu calendar.
Very similar pattern to all his recent matches. He dominates the first set — even being two breaks up here, then fails to capitalise on the set points, gets broken when serving for the set, and loses the set. This is mental, but obviously a reflection of the fact that he doesn’t believe in himself, gets anxious at crucial points in the match, and loses to players he has no business losing to. He fought back in the second set, but his endurance is poor when he is returning from an injury break.
Stephen Koon has delivered precisely nothing for Yuki, whose singles game has collapsed precipitously since he was signed on. (IIRC, it was Indian Wells that he emerged at his side, and was signed up soon after).

Yes, he did have a medical timeout too. I expected this since I reckon he's not fully fit (going by the articles that he'd back later in the month)

That makes Divij the top-ranked Indian doubles player for the first time, at #37 in the live rankings — just ahead of Rohan at 39. (NRI Rajeev Ram is 36).
