What a pleasant surprise. Prajnesh rarely plays doubles, but they've pulled off a big win against a pair of good doubles players.

RamK loses the first set 4-6 against Dzumhur. Very close one though with 43 points against 44 . RamK had 8 bp opportunities but could not convert any while Dzumhur converted 1 out of 3 which is the difference in the match so far.

Couldn't leave the office today so unable to watch it live at the stadium , just following on live scoring and those 9 BP's were opportunities lost.
There seem to be no live streaming , are there any links to this match ?

Ram bows out in straight sets ,ultimately it seems the BP's chances lost in the first set might have been decisive , but surely a close match than what the scoreline suggest's , Even at 2 all in the second set got broken after leading 40-15.

Anyway it has been a good ATP 250 tournament for him , coming in through the qualies , and at the start of this tournament had to defend 56 points for this year out of which he has already defended 32 here in Shenzen ,So for the remaining year has ample opportunities not only to defend the remaining 24 points but can also attempt to mount a serious challenge for Direct Entry in the AO.

At Beijing China Open ATP 500,

[Q1] Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND,134) vs Tennys Sandgren (USA,55)

At Tokyo Japan Open ATP 500,

[Q1] Prajnesh Gunneswaran (IND,164) vs Martin Klizan (SVK,49)

To have to play almost top-50 ranked players in the first qualifying round of an ATP 500 is miserable. Klizan plays his best tennis in Indoor Hard.

For the second week in a row our guys will taking a shot at huge ATP's.

But this time their oppeners are massively tough , Ram against 55 ranked Tennys Sandgren and Prajnesh against  Slovakian 45 ranked  Martin Klizan.
Sandgren hasn't played much in recent times and would be hoping of the plane from the US, where as Ram has been  playing since the past 3 weeks, and who know a upset could be possible

Tennys Sandgren did hop off the plane and was hot enough in swatting across RamK in straight sets 1 and 2.

At Beijing China Open ATP 500,

[Q1] Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND,134) l. Tennys Sandgren (USA,55) : 1-6, 2-6
