At $50K(+H) Gwangju challenger, Korea

Main draw -

Bublik won the third set in a Tie-Break. Heart break for Arjun as he couldn't convert the match points that he had in the second set TB.
Sid too lost the second set in a close tie break (7-5), however won the third set comfortably at 6-2, to win his match against his higher ranked opponent.

[R1] Arjun Kadhe (IND,346) l. (3) Alexander Bublik (KAZ,172) : 6-4, 6-7, 6-7
[R1] (7) Siddharth Rawat (IND,624) d. (WC) Cheong-Eui KIM (KOR, 370) : 7-5, 6-7, 6-2

Wonderful win for Sid , as not only he was facing a much higher ranked opponent , but it is always a tough match to face a Korean on home soil and to overcome these odds is truly commendable.

Arjun sadly bows out in a close 3 setter and ran the former World #95 so close and must be rueing those wasted MP's.

Heartbreak for Arjun Kadhe, but he should take heart from this terrifically competitive match against the former top-100 player who is seeded third here.

Truly heartening win for Sid Rawat over the local wildcard. Congratulations to the doughty Indian qualifier!

It should read (Q not 7th seed in the main draw!):

[R1] Q-Siddharth Rawat (IND,624) d. (WC) Cheong-Eui KIM (KOR, 370) : 7-5, 6-7, 6-2

Yes looks like one more Chinese name to look out for.

Sid meanwhile duly completes a credible victory over the Japanese Shintaro Imai 3 & 1 who has few ITF titles in Hongkong & india and also made couple of ITF finals in Hongkong. Probable opponent for entry in the MD draw would be 8th seeded Australian Dayne Kelly who is 3 games away from winning his match.

Arjun starts his match in some time .
