Sureshkumar scores a commendable straight sets win 2 & 2 against a fancied opponent, while Mukund is in trouble against the experienced NewZealander and is a set and 3-4 down

And Manish scripts a fine comeback win , to record a famous victory on his 3rd match point to prevail 0-6,6-2,6-4

By far the best win of his fledgling career , as Statham with 2 challenger titles to his name is a crafty experienced tour veteran and the mainstay of the NZ Davis Cup team.

Marvellous !!!!

Yes, it was a long last game where Manish saved a few break points and held on to win the match.

At $150K Jinan Challenger 2018, China

[Q3] Manish Sureshkumar (IND,584) d. Rubin Statham (NZL,507) 06 62 64

Tough match for Manish in main draw but that is too be expected in a $150K challenger.

[R1] Manish Sureshkumar (IND,584) vs. Duck Hee Lee (KOR,239)

Arjun's R1 match is later today.

Marvellous win for Manish over a very experienced and crafty opponent. Great stuff from the youngster! (Statham has a career-high singles rank of 279, and was ranked in the 300s until last week; he lost to Somdev in the QF in the CWG singles in 2010, and has been a tough DC competitor against us over the years).

Arjun takes the first set 76(6) against seventh seed Krstin. Arjun is playing well but it is a very close match. 40 points each to both players. So, Arjun will have to keep his level of play to press home this advantage.

Arjun takes the first set and at 5-6 down in the TB played a terrific point under pressure and after trading over 10 shots which could have gone either way , went on to level it at 6 all and eventually take the first set. Hope he can finish it off in straight sets
