Winning start for our girls in doubles.

Gozal AINITDINOVA (KAZ) / Karman Kaur THANDI (IND) 6-1 0-6 [15-13] Meiling WANG (CHN) / Mei Xu WU (CHN)
Rutuja BHOSALE (IND) / Shilin XU (CHN) [4] 6-1 6-4 Xu Liu SUN (CHN) / Qianqian ZHAO (CHN)

I wonder why Karman never partner fellow Indian players in foreign tournaments. Rutuja has a better doubles rank than the Kazakh player.

She has started to dominate now. She used to find it difficult to overcome this players not so long ago. 92% first serve points won! This is huge for any female tennis player. She could be among top 10 best servers in the world right now. Definitely best in Asia. Karman Kaur's performance should inspire Rutuja to do better.

Don't want to jinx it, but if Karman wins the tournament this week, she will enter the Top 200 at 196, just ahead of Ankita, who'll be at 198.

KKT reached the finals here last year, so she has some points to defend I think.
Good to see her dominating her matches
:goodluck: for future matches.

Sorry, Naomi Osaka is really American although technically she represents Japan! Her dad signed her up for Japan based on potential sponsorship opportunities from what I read....
