And Karman is thru to the SF with another easy win.

[QF] (2) Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,261) d. (SE) Mai HONTAMA (JPN,758) 64 61

Next,

[SF] (2) Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,261) vs. Zuzana ZLOCHOVA (SVK,593)

Zlochova has run into form in recent weeks. She reached SF at $25K in Thailand a couple of weeks back and has beaten Pranjala and 2 more good players this week so far.

Karman is inching steadily up toward a ranking that will get her into the Slam qualifiers -- perhaps as soon as this year's US Open. A couple more wins here (ie, the title) would be great!

I think somewhere along the way she will put it all together and could just shoot up to even top-100. She has some of the requisites for that.

Precisely. She / Sumit are included in the TOP scheme even when it was originally designed / funded with only Olympics in mind.

I just hope beyond a point, all these expectations don't trouble her and that she continues to enjoy Tennis / life, keep things in perspective while giving it the best she can.

Pranjala is in the doubles final in Hong Kong, which will be played this afternoon after the two singles SFs (which appear to have been interrupted by rain).

Yes, Karman seems to have run into very good form this week .

[SF] (2) Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,261) d. Zuzana ZLOCHOVA (SVK,593) 62 61

This is her third 25K final. She lost in the first 2 finals. Can she get third time lucky ?

Next,

[F] (2) Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,261) vs. (1) Jia-Jing LU (CHN,185)

Karman had beaten Lu last December in Navi Mumbai. Hope she can repeat that result here.

Damm .. just when I entered the stadium , it started pouring , 6-1 , 2 all in the second set.
Doesn't seem it will resume anytime soon , as the heavy Thunderstorm warning is in effect.
