Saki Setkic tied at 1 set all. Saki won the first set on a tiebreak, after missing 10 BP opportunities. He was a break up in the second, but lost serve twice to lose it 4-6. C'mon Saki!

Excellent win over Setkic, who is actually ranked 258 now and has a career-best ranking of 165 (from October 2017).

Yes, solid win! Looks like Saketh is finally getting back somewhere near his pre-injury level.

First Youzhny needs to beat Alejandro Gonzalez in R1.

Arjun Kadhe has got into the main draw as a Lucky Loser, and plays a fellow LL Dmitry Zhyrmont (BLR, 422). Terrific stroke of luck. I hope Arjun can capitalise!

Top seeded Youzhny did manage to beat Alejandro Gonzalez (who has a career high of 70) 7-5 in the final set to go through to a R2 encounter against Saketh.

Arjun awaits the result of the Nedelko-Nedovyesov match later today to determine his R2 opponent.

Tough matches for both our players against ageing players who have stellar records. Of course, Youzhny is in a different category altogether -- a former top-10 player who has made the QF of all the Slams, and SF at the USO a couple of times, although the last of his Slam QFs was 6 years ago. The main thing that Saketh has going for him is that his own form is on the way up while Youzhny's is on the way down (at the age of 36).

Nedovyesov has a career high ranking of 72, and is at home. But he has struggled to win anything even in Challenger qualifying rounds this year, so he is vulnerable. Arjun has a reasonably good chance to pull an upset if he is playing his best tennis.

When I last followed live scores, the Columbian was serving for the match at 5-3 in the final set (30-30, if i remember well in my half-sleepy state). I assumed he would pull it off. Anyway, at least he managed to stretch the Russian veteran full-length and in the process tired him well enough for Saki to pull an upset tomorrow.
