Asian Men’s Futures, May-July 2018
Karunuday, Aryan Goveas and Nitin Sinha have been playing in the Singapore F2 (last week) and F3 (this week).
I was planning to watch tomorrow, but KU and Aryan both lost in R1 today, the latter to an Indonesian Lucky Loser!
Nitin plays a fellow qualifier (from Serbia) at noon tomorrow.

Re: Asian Men’s Futures, May-July 2018
Last week, Karunuday lost in R2 to the eventual champion. Aryan, seeded, lost in R1.
They should stop playing singles! They are paired up in doubles this week.

I think Saniapower hacked into PKB's account. Or, this is like PKB who asked the great man to stop playing a decade or something before he retired!

Re: Asian Men’s Futures, May-July 2018
When you have this kind of result (that too in the second consecutive week in the same place):
[R1] Jeremy BEALE (AUS, 722) 5-7 6-3 6-2 8-Karunuday SINGH (IND, 651)
[R1] LL-David Agung SUSANTO (INA, 1366) 6-3 6-4 Aryan GOVEAS (IND, 709)
..you should be moving onto specialising in doubles. KU had reasonable singles results in the first year after he left college, but has plunged downhill in the past year and a half. There really is no point being a singles pro if you are losing week in and week out in the first or second round of the lowest-level Futures. This was really aimed at Karunuday, who is 27. It was a bit harsh on 19-year-old Aryan (who lost to a guy who was ranked 732 a year ago) -- so I withdraw my previous remark about him. He must soldier on despite this shocking result!

And sure enough, Karunuday/Aryan won their R1 doubles match (albeit against a Singaporean pair ) 60 76(3)

Re: Asian Men’s Futures, May-July 2018
The disheartening results in singles continue:
[R1] Q-Ilija VUCIC (SRB, 1117) 6-3 6-1 Q-Nitin Kumar SINHA (IND, 1084)
Vucic is a 27 year old who was ranked 682 a year ago, while 19 year old Nitin is at a career high, so this terrible outcome can at least be attributed to experience prevailing over youth.

Yes, disappointing results in 2 weeks in Singapore for KU,Aryan and Nitin. As PKB said, time for KU to move to doubles where he does seem to produce good results every now and then.
Aryan and Nitin should mostly look at going to US college circuit and spend 3-4 years there. Currently, they do not look ready to do well in pros.

Posting the scores from the Andijan Uzbekistan F3 Futures ($25K) here too, since it is also in Asia. (Andijan is actually in the Ferghana valley, the cradle of the Timurid dynasty that conquered Delhi in 1526):
[R1] 4-Arjun KADHE (IND,368) d. (Q) Martin BORISIOUK (BLR,1773) 76(4) 75
This 17 year old kid is ranked 320 even in the juniors, so Arjun shouldn't have had to huff and puff so much in beating him.

Re: Asian Men’s Futures, May-July 2018
Karunuday and Aryan got clobbered 26 16 in the doubles QF in Singapore
Being a first world city, Singapore attracts a lot of Australian players (many of whom stay with local hosts to cut costs), making the draw much tougher than the typical Futures in Asia.

Re: Asian Men’s Futures, May-July 2018
There are 3 Futures in Sri Lanka in the next three consecutive weeks. In the first week (starting June 11th), there are 7 Indians (Manish Sureshkumar, Abhinav Shanmugam, Vinayak Sharma Kaza, Nitin Sinha, Kunal Anand, Prajwal Dev and Ranjeet VM) in the main draw, and an equal number in the qualifiers.
For the F2, the field gets a lot tougher and only the first three make the main draw acceptance list, while the others will have to play qualifiers.

Re: Asian Men’s Futures, May-July 2018
That was because withdrawal deadline was not over when you saw this yesterday. After that is over now, all 7 which you mentioned above are in the main draw entry list for F2 too.PKBasu wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 6:59 am There are 3 Futures in Sri Lanka in the next three consecutive weeks. Re: Asian Men’s Futures, May-July 2018
This is good but only Chandril Sood pulled an upset and I don't like one of our seeded players losing
