All over for Karman.

[QF] (5) Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,270) l. (4) Harriet DART (GBR,214) 62 26 36

Disappointing end after a very good start. I watched the first few games where Karman was firing on all cylinders and later part of third set when Karman was making a lot more errors and Dart playing a smart defensive game. Karman needs to somehow have more control over her game without sacrificing her weapons - big serve and forehand and she will be ready to move towards top 200.

Ankita too has lost the second set 3-6.

And she breaks back 4-4. Both players have broken each other on the last 4 points. This is very unusual, is Ankita's serve worse than her overall game?

Ouch. Did I hear it right, when Ankita said "are you f-----g blind or what?" to the ump? ... she needs to watch her words. 5-4 on serve in the 3rd.

Ankita really played a poor tiebreaker, after being up a minibreak early. I think she lost 6 of the last 7 points to lose the third set tiebreaker 3-7. Missed some shots unnecessarily and gave it away. Oh well.

That is very uncharacteristic of Ankita to play a poor tie break ( and also the earlier outbreak on umpire). Perhaps, 7th straight week of playing and being all alone travelling for such a long period has taken it's toll. Now, she will have to hope that she has done enough to make it to Wimbledon qualies. A win yesterday would have sealed it for sure.

She had made it to the doubles final to be played later today. Karman and her partner lost in the SF.

[SF] Harriet DART (GBR) / Ankita RAINA (IND) [3] 2-6 7-5 [10-5] Shuo FENG (CHN) / Jia-Qi KANG (CHN)

[SF] Fangzhou LIU (CHN) / Fang Ying XUN (CHN) 6-3 6-7(4) [10-6] Hanyu GUO (CHN) / Karman Kaur THANDI (IND) [4]

Ankita seems to do well with her British doubles partners, takes the title here in straight sets :D

Great week for both of our players. Next week, Karman and Rutuja are in Wuhan MD

Yes, doubles title for Ankita.

[F] Harriet DART (GBR) / Ankita RAINA (IND) [3] 6-3 6-3 Fangzhou LIU (CHN) / Fang Ying XUN (CHN)

Ankita will go up to around 175 in the doubles rankings with this win. She will probably be able to play Wimbledon qualifying in doubles too now.
