Karman Kaur Thandi is THE WORST doubles player in the world. So no surprise here. IMO.

What an impressive victory for Rutuja! Clearly, her stint at Texas A&M has helped her game.

Excellent win for Rutuja, best of her career, maybe? She also moved into the doubles SF with partner Emily upsetting top seeds Alison Bai/Jia-Jing Lu.

Live rankings still have Rutuja only up 2 places to 443 (a career-high), just behind India #3 Pranjalla Yadlapalli, who is #421.
The greatest women's player of all time, Serena Williams, is slightly behind them at 453

Re: ITF Women China- $60K Luan (May 7), $25K Wuhan (May 14)
That is because of 1 week delay in updation of 25K points. When her 9 points for this week are updated on 28th May, Rutuja will be at around #420 just ahead of Pranjala back as India #3. Rutuja had for the first time gained the India #3 spot this Monday but will lose it next Monday as Pranjala's last week's 25K Spain QF points are updated. But, she will gain it back the week after. Good competition between the two in the last few weeks for the #3 spot and hope they keep taking the target ahead for that. Rutuja for instance can go much higher this week if she gets at least 1-2 wins more.

Rutuja's singles QF is on ITF live stream. She just won the first set 7-5.
She was up 3-1 only to lose the next 4 games to go down 3-5 but came back strongly to win next 4 games .

Okay, so one more of our younger ladies showing a bit of a spark. Need to take several more steps, but Rutuja is on the right track. Though she didn't set college tennis on fire or anything, the time at Texas A&M has certainly helped her. Apparently she added a backhand slice to her repertoire last year, which her coach at Texas A&M talked about. I think she is a focused type and should do well, with her height and general fitness.
