Awesome win for Divij! Clearly, he is a very good doubles player given the success he's had with many different partners. If he finds a steady partner, he could become our best doubles player over the next year. Good luck to him in the QF!

The top 4 seeds were knocked out before the third round, and the 6th and 8th seeds lost in R3. So Divij/Artem play the second highest remaining seeded pair, 7th seeds Sock/MBryan in the QF.

Here's the QF draw for the Men's Doubles:

13-Venus/Klaasen vs. 5-J.Murray/Soares
14-McLachlan/Struff vs. WC-Nielsen/Salisbury
Haase/Lindstedt vs. 15-Inglot/Skugor
7-M.Bryan/Sock vs. Sharan/Sitak

Frederik Nielsen has mastered the fine art of pairing up with a Brit at Wimbledon, thus obtaining a wildcard and advancing far in the draw. In 2012, of course, he paired with Jonathan Marray all the way to the title, and here he is in the QF once again. Outside Wimbledon, his best Slam doubles achievements have been making the R2 (in all the other three Slams).

All four doubles quarterfinals will be played today. Divij/Artem play on Court 3, starting in about an hour from now. (A veterans match is just ending there -- Eltingh/Haarhuis d Ivanisevic/Bahrami -- to be followed by a MxD match, and then the Men's doubles).

Only to be expected! But it was much closer than yesterday. And maybe the comeback will start sooner today!

Following the same script as the previous rounds. They lost the second set as well in another close TB - 6-7(5).
No Breaks of serve so far in the first Two sets (with plenty of Break point opportunities for both the teams go begging).

They enter into another Tie Break in the third set. Is there a come back in the script for Divij/Artem?

MB/JS -- DS/AS
0-1, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4, 2-5, 2-6 SP, 3-6 SP, 3-7

Divij and Artem take control of that Tie Break to win the third set 7-6(3).

Divij/Artem are broken in the first game of the fourth set. (first break of serve in the match)
It is 1-2 in the fourth set with MB/JS on serve. DS/AS break back quickly in the fourth game to level it 2-2 in the fourth set.
DS/AS follow it with a very quick hold of serve to love, to go 3-2 up in the set.

MB/JS -- DS/AS
1-0 (Break of Serve)
2-0
2-1
2-2 (Break of Serve)
2-3
3-3
3-4
4-4
5-4 (Break of Serve) DS/AS saved 5 BPs but got broken in the end after a multitude of Deuces :-( MB/JS serving for the Match.
6-4 An easy hold of serve to love.

GENTLEMEN'S DOUBLESQUARTER-FINALS

M. BRYAN J. SOCK 7-6, 7-6, 6-7, 6-4 D. SHARAN A. SITAK

DS/AS left it too late to mount the challenge. Nevertheless, a very Good performance and hope they keep playing together as a pair and improving further.

With this QF win, Mike Bryan reclaims the No.1 spot in the Doubles Live Rankings.
