Re: French Open 2018
I think the organizers may have already offered the Lucky Loser slot to Marco Trungelliti, who was the highest-ranked player onsite. Please ask Prajnesh to act immediately to reverse this situation.

Re: French Open 2018
Latest updates from twitter
Marco Trungelliti is driving from Barcelona so he will sign tomorrow early in the morning. He play against Tomic 11AM
But wait! A loophole *could* give Gunneswaran a lifeline back into #RG18, if he can get "released" from the supervisor of his challenger tournament in Italy. #Player2Enters

Re: French Open 2018
They can't offer it to anyone since nobody signed up.
Whoever signs up before play tomorrow and is eligible gets it. Trungelliti is on his way from Barcelona.

Re: French Open 2018
Prajnesh has confirmed with Sportster he won't be playing French Open. This is ridiculous. Has he given up too soon?

I concur with athithee ; he needs AITA to get the Italian tennis federation to get him an exemption and get to Paris pronto.

Re: French Open 2018
There is no doubt that Prajnesh is ranked higher than Trungelliti. This week, Prajnesh is 183, Trungelliti is 190. Last week, Prajnesh was 175, Trungelliti was 182. So whether they use this week's ranking or last week's, Prajnesh will get to play ahead of Trungelliti if he shows up tonight or tomorrow morning and signs up as a Lucky Loser. He needs to speak to Vicenza organisers, withdraw, and fly back to Paris tonight.

Re: French Open 2018
It seems impossible that he isn’t aware of this situation. So, I’m not sure if our efforts are even useful. Not sure what she can do, but Sushma Swaraj responds to tweets — is it worthwhile tweeting to her? Again, only if we are trying to get to the man himself, not otherwise.

Re: French Open 2018
The rules should be very clear in such situations. It should not be left to the discretion of tournament supervisor.
Also if rules allow that, there is no reason for tournament supervisor to deny Prajnesh a chance to compete in a slam. It is not as if Prajnesh is a star player at that challenger and bring in crowds or something.
Prajnesh should fight it out to get in here unless rules specifically disallow it which I do not see anywhere.

Vishnu, would you be able to confirm of Prajnesh has attempted talking to the supervisor or the ATP Executive Vice President-Rules and Competition?

Re: French Open 2018
Looks like even the Indian media is aware of this situation:

Really no reason why he can’t play unless the rules don’t allow or he chooses not to do so. Surely, he must know the situation.
P.S. where is Jay? He’s very astute regarding these matters. It’s a 3-day weekend here and it’s early morning in California.
