Re: French Open 2018
The Grand Slams all now pay men and women the same. This was finally resolved a few years ago, but what I can't understand is why the U.S. Open is the only Grand Slam that has 16 women qualify into the main draw. All the other GS have spots for only 12 qualifiers, thus having only 96 players in the entire qualifying draw field. It's a shame that 32 women get shortchanged compared to the men.

Re: French Open 2018
The French Open qualifying rounds begin on Monday for the men (Ramkumar, Prajnesh and hopefully Sumit). Ramkumar will be seeded 13th, so barring surprises he is expected to make it into the main draw!
The women begin on Tuesday, so hopefully Ankita is there now and practicing hard on the clay courts.

Re: French Open 2018
Sumit Nagal is comfortably in the qualifying draw. Menstennisforums confirmed this 10 days ago:
"Re: Roland Garros Qualifying Entry List
OUT: Fabbiano, Norrie, Fratangelo (officially)
IN: Pavlasek, Nagal, Ignatik
NEXT: Clarke, Nedovyesov"

Re: French Open 2018
Yes, good that he will not play any higher ranked player in the qualies but still there will be a lot of clay monsters from Europe which will be in the draw which he has to be wary of. I wish he and Prajnesh had played at least 1 week of challenger on European clay before French qualies.

Re: French Open 2018
It is confirmed that Divij is going to play the doubles with Yuki ... Yuki should made a plan of playing doubles with him at Lyon.
I hope their partnership will be continued in Wimbledon also.

Re: French Open 2018
I couldn't find a source for this information but it's a delight to know that Yuki and Divij will be playing together at RG. Knowing that they have played well together in the past and Divij is in good touch, I am sure the results will come through irrespective of Yuki's temporary halt.

Re: French Open 2018
That is a tough 1st round for someone seeded 12. Jay Clarke is going to be a tough nut to crack.

Re: French Open 2018
Jay Clarke has only played on American clay and with mixed results in the lead up so not that bad as a matchup.
And Tomic in R2; that said, rest of the section is straightforward.

Re: French Open 2018
Tough Opening rounds for all our Players
Sumit starts the proceedings on Court # 8 at 10 Am local time against an In form Klizan , hard to see him win.
Prajnesh on Court 14 starting at around 3 pm local time against an dyed in wool clay courter Italian Caruso Salvatore, and the Italian would start as a favourite. But Prajnesh has that new found ability to surprise and defy the predictions and we could well see an upset.
Ram on Court 9 starting around 3 pm local time , against a guy on paper he shouldn't be having problem , but lack of tournament play, plus having lost their last meeting in Bangalore in 3 close sets would add to the difficulty. But the match he lost in Bangalore he himself was to be blamed and played poorly and not his normal self after pocketing the first set, so just worried about the lack of match practice , although he has been training hard at his academy in Barcelona for the past 10 days.
