Yes it's a wonderfull place and managed to spend some time there after work in Malaga during my business trips.

Ram & Sumeet have been practising together and Sumeet scores a hard fought win,and faces a surprise package ,Novak Djokovic younger brother Marco ,the on/off Tennis player who once again is on the courts comming out of retirement and inspite of being unranked took care of his 323 ranked opponent in straight sets.

Excellent win by Sumit showing his clay credentials again in what is a very tough CH field. Sumit will have to win 3 matches just to get into the MD.

MTF is getting all excited about the Djokovic vs Nagal clash in QR2 :p

A tough opening round for Ram where he is up against 161 ranked Italian Alessandro Gianessi who was ranked as high as 84 not so long time a ago.
Fingers crossed ,as he is comming in from hard court tournaments and playing his first match of the season on Red clay against a strong opponent.

There is nothing in China this week and RamK was playing in Miami last week. :D

Anyway, Sumit's Q3 match at Marbella is currently on ATP live stream-

ATP Marbella challenger

It is 2-2 in the first set. Sumit saved a breakpoint in last game.

3 bad unforced errors from Sumit got him down 15-40 but he won the next 4 points very well to make it 3-3.

Couple of bad errors by Cachin this time and Sumit takes advantage to break at love for 5-4. Now, he has a chance to serve for the set.

And Sumit holds at love to take the first set 6-4.

2-2 in the second set. Sumit has saved all 5 breakpoints so far and has converted 1 out of 2 breakpoints that he has got.

Just as I wrote that Sumit missed 2 breakpoints in the next service game of Kachin. He was dictating the last 2 points of that game but missed easy overhead smashes on both points. Now needs to refocus.

Damn, just as I had thought, missing those 2 easy overhead smashed seemed to be at the back of his mind and Sumit played a poor service game to get broken at love for 2-4. :-(

But, Sumit breaks right back at 30 helped by double fault by Cachin on breakpoint.

Sumit saved 4 breakpoints in his next service game but lost the fifth one to go down 3-5.

Cachin was taken to deuce in the next service game but held to win the second set 6-3.

Somehow, After he missed those 2 breakpoints at 2-2, Sumit seemed to have lost his focus and made a lot more unforced errors than he was doing earlier.

On to the decider.

Have watched a bit off and on and it's frustrating tennis. Get the impression that it's someone he should be beating but clearly not a good day at the office.

[FQR] (2) Sumit Nagal (IND,218) lost to (8) Pedro Cachin (ARG, 266) 6-4, 3-6, 4-6

A right battle. The winner slumped over the net at the end and Sumit making the slowest walk possible to the net said it all.
