Re: Asian Challengers - April 2018
Congrats Prajnesh for a fabulous win at a high level challenger
To win after losing the close first set so comprehensively speaks volume of how far he has come since the famous last rubber win in Davis cup.
Fantastic few weeks for Indians in China/Taipei!!!

What a run by Indians in East Asia. First Yuki wins the Taipei Challenger (beating Ramkumar in the final), and now Prajnesh wins another US$150K+H Challenger in Kunming (China)

What a great feat! Finals was a treat to watch except for the numerous DFs from Prajnesh. Top-200, biggest paycheck, RG and Wimbledon Q entries. Memorable week for Prajnesh here

Re: Asian Challengers - April 2018
We all have to thank Yuki Bhambri for all this. Had he not withdrawn from the DC , Prajnesh would be still around the Futures/ Challengers and showing the odd sporadic burst's .
Even us and the Captain thought he was there at the DC merely to make up the numbers , and was even preferred over Sumit in the opening rubber.
But that epic win in the deciding rubber has completely transformed Prajnesh and instilled self belief in him which he has followed up with remarkable consistency in the past 3 weeks which we have never seen Prajnesh showing the same form before
That Davis Cup win is the most stunning component in the new Prajnesh which we see now and perhaps it has changed him forever
With 3 top singles player , the drum roll on Indian Tennis rennicance has begun

Live rankings show Prajnesh at 176 now, just ahead of Safwat at 177 (the latter was 175 yesterday). Both of course are career highs. Prajnesh has now leap-frigged over Jerzy Janowicz (the former Wimbledon semifinalist, who was ranked 14 in 2013, now #181), Ernests Gulbis (ranked 10 when he reached the FO SF in 2014, now 189) and Bernard Tomic (once a future world #1, now ranked 209; he made the Wimbledon QF in 2011, and was ranked 17 after making R4 of the AO for the second consecutive year in 2016).

Wow, what a performance by Prajnesh. 2 Indians winning a $150K challenger titles within 3 weeks. Who would have thought this would happen a few years back.
Turning out to be a truly golden peridot for Indian tennis.

Another rope-a-dope by Prajnesh, losing the first set and then storming back to wrap it up ... pun intended (hint, the opponent was Egyptian)! Sent the Egyptian back to his Cairo-practor! Safwat ran into the Sphinx and he couldn't solve the puzzle, and paid the price!
