O.K. Disregard my previous note about Kanika's MD for next week. I do not see her in the entry list as she withdrew to enter a $15K in Israel but she eventually withdrew from there as well. It would be interesting now to see if she does want to apply for a WC.

Re: Madhya Pradesh Women's ITF - $15K Bhopal (Mar 5), $25K Gwalior (Mar 12)
A sad end to an otherwise great week for Kanika. She received a Q WC for next week's $25K at Gwalior.
For next week:
Ankita, Karman, Rutuja, Pranjala are in the main draw list.
Albina Khabibulina, Riya, Zeel, Dhruthi, Kanika, Prerna, Sai Samhita, Natasha are the top 8 seeds of the qualifying draw. I wonder who the main draw wildcards are awarded to. Apart from the above list, I do not think we have any talented players that deserve a MDWC. I'm assuming it is going to be some poor choice by the organizers. Mihika and Mahak never entered.

Yes, Kanika and Dhruti should have got the main draw wild cards since they made the semi finals this week and had to play their SF matches yesterday and will now need to play again today. I hope Mahak and/or Mihika have changes their mind and decided to take the wild card at Gwalior.bujilover wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 11:03 pm Albina Khabibulina, Riya, Zeel, Dhruthi, Kanika, Prerna, Sai Samhita, Natasha are the top 8 seeds of the qualifying draw. Re: Madhya Pradesh Women's ITF - $15K Bhopal (Mar 5), $25K Gwalior (Mar 12)
This is to add to the earlier discussion on the wildcards for this tournament. Wildcard Isha Budwal got double bagelled by Cengiz. This is a higher level tournament and Isha might have benefited more by getting a wildcard for qualifying. In-form players like Kanika or Dhruthi would have been better choices. WC Mihika had a tougher ask playing the top-seed and lost 0 and 2.

Re: Madhya Pradesh Women's ITF - $15K Bhopal (Mar 5), $25K Gwalior (Mar 12)
Ankita goes thru to the QF with a tough 76(5) 36 62 win over 18 year old Turkish Cengiz. So, we will at least have 2 Indians in QF with Karman-Pranjala second round to come. Let us see if Snehadevi can come up with something against seventh seed.

Like Rutuja yesterday, Snehadevi could not press home her advantage and lost in 3 sets. Karman easily best Pranjala.
These were our results today-
[R2] (4) Ankita Raina (IND,255) d. Berfu Cengiz (TUR,505) 76(6) 36 62
[R2] (Q) Snehadevi Reddy (IND,1127) l. (7) Despina Papamichael (GRE,366) 64 36 46
[R2] (5) Karman Kaur Thandi (IND,278) d. Pranjala Yadlapalli (IND,482) 63 61
So, Ankita and Karman take their appointed places in the QF and they play unseeded players in the QF.
[QF] (4) Ankita Raina (IND,255) vs. (Q) Monica Robinson (USA,1151)
[QF] (5) Karman Kaur Thandi (IND,278) vs. Yana Sizikova (RUS,474)
Sizikova upset the top seed in second round.
