Arjun moves thru to the SF too.

[QF] (3) Arjun KADHE (IND) d. (Q) Vijayant MALIK (IND) 64 30 retd.

So, all of us got the semi finalists right. :D Dinesh's score estimates in terms of sets appear correct except that Dhruv took a set off Sid.

[SF] (3) Arjun KADHE (IND) vs. Patrik RIKL (CZE)
[SF] (2) Sidharth RAWAT (IND) vs. (4) N. Vijay Sundar PRASHANTH (IND)

So far it was easy to predict. Now, comes the tougher matches.

Tight 3-setters in the SF -- good to see that.

Arjun has made an excellent transition to the pro tour over the past half year. Congrats on another Futures title (his second, after one he won in Cambodia last year).

Live rankings show him up only slightly to 518 (from 525), but presumably he will be much higher a week hence. After his 12 points are added, he should be ranked around 475.

We should at least ensure that these are $15K+H, not just $15K tournaments. The points are miserly for $15K tournaments.

18 points for 15K title, not 12. Arjun will move up to around 450.

Five out of eight of the final qualifying matches are all-India matchups in Kolkata (India F2). Three nice Indian upsets of higher ranked foreigners in Q1, by Paramveer Bajwa, Jatin Dahiya and Ankit Chopra. Vinayak Kaza, Kunal Anand and Suraj Prabodh beat lower-ranked foreigners.

Abhinav, Mohit and Suraj are through to the main draw. Mohit beat an American, so there’ll be a minimum of 6 Indian qualifiers.

I already consider Arjun better than Ramkumar and as par with Yuki. I think Arjun is going to replace Ramkumar in our Davis cup squad in near future.
