Updated few late results which meyyis had missed in his post. Manish Sureshkumar had a close third set tie break win against Siddharth Vishwakarma. 18 year old Manish continues to impress.

Of the first round winner picks, I got 12 right, Suresh and Dinesh 11 each. None predicted Kaza's upset of 6th seed.

Btw, last week Suresh and Dinesh got their final prediction right with Bouluda beating Arjun in the final. I had picked Saketh to win last week.

Prajnesh, Arjun Khade , Siddarth Rawat , Dalwinder , and KU all score straight sets facile victories to move into the next round
KU has been a revelation of sorts this year notching consistent wins , compared to his performance last year where his singles career was in doubt and had hit a wall. His Pre-Season training with a Cuban trainer seems to be paying rich dividends as seen from the results so far.

Cuban trainer for Tennis ? Where he did train with him ?

Anyway, he faces a tough test against higher ranked Vietnamese next. Arjun too faces a repeat of last week's final where he was easily beaten by Boluda-Purkiss.

Thanks,Rajeev. That must have helped KU.

He got thrashed though 16 16 by Vitenamese Ly here though. Arjun is putting up a decent fight against the Spaniard Boluda this time. After losing a close first set 5-7, Arjun has taken the second set 6-3.

Arjun was 4-2 up in the third set but lost 4 straight games. Much better fight against the Spaniard than last week but in the end could not covert into a win.

Sid too lost in 3 sets. So, only Prajnesh went thru to the SF.

QF results -

(1) Prajnesh GUNNESWARAN (IND) d. Dalwinder SINGH (IND) 75 63
(8) Manuel PENA LOPEZ (ARG) d. (4) Sidharth RAWAT (IND) 46 63 60
(3) Nam Hoang LY (VIE) d. (7) Karunuday SINGH (IND) 61 61
(2) Carlos BOLUDA-PURKISS (ESP) d. (5) Arjun KADHE (IND) 75 36 64

Hopefully, Prajnesh can win this tournament, otherwise a somewhat disappointing show by the other Indians although Kadhe continues to show consistency...

Second seeds Arjun Kadhe and Vijay Sunder Prashnath won the doubles for the second consecutive week ( and they finished runner up in first week).

With that title, Arjun will move to around 380 in the doubles ranking and VSP around 225.

Prajnesh's SF will start soon.

Semifinal
Prajnesh GUNNESWARAN (IND) [1] 6-1 6-4 Manuel PENA LOPEZ (ARG) [8]
Nam Hoang LY (VIE) [3] 6-4 6-2 Carlos BOLUDA-PURKISS (ESP) [2]

LY is ranked 475 in the world. Shouldn't be a tough final to win the title here and fly to Qujing. :goodluck:
