I guess they may be getting more for a world group play off tie. Also all the expenses ( travel and stay) are borne by the federation. So, it becomes a bit more affordable for players. Overall, I was thinking that they get paid a lot more for davis cup that as stated in that article.

The team is selected for davis cup tie against China. Leander is back in the team.

It is Yuki Bhambri, Ramkumar Ramanathan, Sumit Nagal, Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna. Divij Sharan as a reserve.

AITA in it's press release that excecutive committee instructed the selection committee to select the best team and asked players to sort out the differences between themselves.

It's good to see LP back in the team - even if he doesn't play, he can be a strong motivating factor. I hope all players see it this way - other teams (e.g. Spain) also have a senior guy in there who advises, motivates, and sometimes jumps in and plays also.

His team mates were toddlers when he was taking the world by storm. They don't understand how big a legend he was.

This is a related article on the subject -

Leander Paes returns to India Davis Cup team for China tie
According to sources in the AITA, Bhupathi had written to Misra that Bopanna had expressed wish to “sit out” of the China tie, to allow Paes get his Davis Cup world record, effectively conveying that he was not willing to pair up with the legend for this tie. “This matter was discussed in the EC yesterday and according to the captain, Rohan is still carrying a baggage and there is no on-court chemistry between them (Bopanna and Paes). The captain also felt that it was only Leander, who can convince Bopanna to play with him and that he must communicate with Bopanna,” an AITA official told PTI. “Look, he (Bopanna) gets grants from the government. If he refuses to play for the country, leaving behind personal differences, AITA won’t support such players. They have to play only twice or thrice a year for India. Can’t they play without an agenda for two weeks,” the irked AITA official remarked. Paes is one win away from surpassing Nicola Pietrangeli of Italy for a world record 43rd Davis Cup doubles win.
I hope everything is sorted out between Lee and Rohan to play together. Else, Lee and Divij will also be a good pair for the Chine tie.

Good to know that Paes is back in the team. Completely deserved. He and Bopanna playing together is a bit risky, but hopefully Hesh can be a good mediator.

Bad news for us. Yuki pulls out if tie against China due to minor abdominal tissue tear. :-(

Prajnesh replaces him the squad joining RamK, Sumit, Leander and Rohan.

This might have bothered him slightly in the match against Sock. But surprised that he has pulled out nonetheless, given that he has nearly 10 days to recover.

Mahesh thinks the onus is on Leander to convince Rohan to play???? That's rich!!! Mahesh is comical in his gutlessness!

And what's sticking in Bopanna's craw??! When Lee is ready to play with him why does he have his shorts in a twist?? Grow up already!!

I don't think he is not healthy. Quite rightly he doesn't want to take a risk for a DC tie. His career at the moment is more important than DC.
