This chair umpire is a 3rd class idiot. He is calling on the far side. Earlier he ruled out a clear ace of Khade and now he called a clear winner (well inside the sideline) out and Arjun lost his serve.

Arjun lost in straight sets.
[R2] (Q) Arjun Kadhe (IND,567) l. (4) Mohmed Safwat (EGY,238) 46 26
Arjun still does not seem ready to beat a top 250 player.
So, only Yuki left in singles QF for us.
[QF] (2) Yuki Bhambri (IND,112) vs. (6) Yasutaka Uchiyama (JPN,222)

It is disappointing to have one player remaining given that three of our players were seeded to make the QF.

Really disastrous home Challenger for us. Sad indeed that just one Indian has made the QF, when 3 were seeded to do so.

VIshnu/Balaji are in the doubles semifinal (after a good straight sets win over Coppejans/Bega), and Saketh joins them there after a 13-11 STB victory (in partnership with Margaroli) over Altuna/Safwat. The other two Indian pairs lost in the QF.

Maybe the umpire looks like your profile picture and has difficulty in seeing the lines.Saniapower wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 7:00 am This chair umpire is a 3rd class idiot. Sorry, I doubt the umpire had anything to do with the losses. Unfortunately, all of Arjun, Abhinav, and Sumit looked quite overmatched in their second round matches.
I suspect that they may struggle to win rounds in the tougher futures in Europe and N. America. Somewhat surprised to see that Siddharth Rawat hasn't played anywhere outside Asia at least in the last 2 years....

Yuki's match started. 2-2 in the first set.
Yuki saved 2 breakpoints to hold for 3-3.
And breaks Uchiyama at 15 for 4-3.

Damn, Yuki gets broken at 30 while serving for the set at 5-4 from 30-0 up. He is overhitting a lot of balls, needs to have better control.

Re: $50K(+H) Chennai Challenger, 12-18 Feb. 2018
could not convert 3 BP opportunities and played pathetic game on his serve to get broken at love to lose the set 5-7
playing some erratic shots and with absolutely no control.
Uchiyama is great retriever does not give away points easily and keep the ball in play for opposition to make mistake.. last 2 points on yuki sever won based on same game plan..

From 5-3 0-30 on opponent serve, Yuki loses the set or gifts the set 5-7
Missed an easy break point shot with whole court wide open at 5-5 too.
Needs to regroup soon and avoid all the unforced errors.

'True, a typical Japanese retriever. Yuki is getting frustrated that all his shots are getting returned. He somehow holds for 1-1 in the second set after a long service game.

And Yuki now breaks at 15 TWICE to lead 4-1
Should win this set now and we go to the decider...
Easily wins the second set 6-2 with 2 breaks.

Good. This match should have been over by now. He unnecessarily gifted away the first set. Hope Yuki keeps his composure now. Uchiyama started making some errors of his own in that set.

Re: $50K(+H) Chennai Challenger, 12-18 Feb. 2018
after he lost those 2 points and faced BP i thought it would be quite difficult for yuki to win but he turned the table to win second set
