Re: $115K WTA Mumbai Open, Nov. 20-26, 2017
Watching Rutuja's match and her opponent Khazaniuk is so annoying - cheering herself for each and every point. You know that you are playing a lower ranked player already. And there is not much crowd here even for Rutuja's match. Sameer, I assume you are there!
I hope Rutuja wins the second set - she just lost the first set by an iffy line call from the chair umpire. And the center court has so much noise with all the crows around - I wonder how the WTA approved of this infrastructure - yesterday one of the players shared the center court views on Instagram with apartment buildings bordered around the court.

No. I did not go there today.
[R1] (WC) Rutuja Bhosale (IND,604) l. (Q) Deniz Khazaniuk (ISR,270) 46 36
Decent performance by Rutuja considering the ranking difference.
But, still another loss for us.

Prarthana and Kuwata spent as little as 59 minutes on court for their doubles R1. Frustrating results from PGT - how can it be possible to not even force any of her losses into STB? How can playing at home courts not give advantage to even win a set? I understand it’s a different partner week-in week-out but at the end of the day most of her partners are very well ranked and established in the CH circuit.

1. We need the thread title changed to 125K as I am sure it was a mistake by Indian organizers if they were responsible for updating WTA page(the one Sameer pointed out).
2. Karman/Pranjala are putting up a great show against Stollar/Naiktha - at least something for us to cheer for. 6-3 2-2 so far.

Karman-Pranjala one game away from sealing this R1 doubles match. The pair broke both Stollar and Naiktha once in the second set.

From 5-2 up, they have missed 6 match points in 3 games and it is 5-5 now in the second set.

Pranjala/Karman wins 6-3 7-5 Great win at the WTA125 level. Karman now has a chance to avenge her singles loss against Jakupovic/Khromacheva in the QF.

Phew, they missed 3 more match points with Nathika serving at 5-6, 0-40 but finally won the deciding point. Won on their 10th match point.
But, finally a win for us in this tournament. Well done, Karman and Pranjala.

I couldn't help remembering the above comment when I saw this article in the Times of India today:

Somehow her antics seemed to have made quite a different impression on the writer

From 5-1 up for Ankita it is back to 5-5 in the first set. She missed a few set points in last few games.
Re: $115K WTA Mumbai Open, Nov. 20-26, 2017
Ankita just won the first set 76(2).
So glad that she's making me eat my words! She must be really eager to grab the India #1 status back, and based on Karman's showing this week, the latter does not seem ready for it just yet.

A little bit of competition for the number one spot is good. Go Ankita.
