Both Yuki and RamK should be seeded. Prajnesh in there too. Other Indians will have to depend on wild cards or qualifying to get in.

Most of these players are coming because of the two consecutive weeks. Hope Indians (Yuki and/or RamK) win both weeks!

286 CLARKE, Jay (GBR)
292 BLANCANEAUX, Geoffrey (FRA)
296 KLEIN, Brydan (GBR)

300 MIEDLER, Lucas (AUT)
301 POLMANS, Marc (AUS)
313 ZAPATA MIRALLES, Bernabe (ESP)

Almost the same entry list. In fact it goes down a few spots compared to Pune Challenger despite this one being a higher level challenger. Again Sumit should be a few spots outside main draw.

Chennai springs a surprise out of the Hat and is going to hold a 50 H challenger on 12th Feb
Bit of a odd timing since there are no related tournaments around the region during that time except far away in Japan after Chennai,So not quite optimistic how will the entry list shape up and which names can it attract , otherwise it all points to a heavy Indian presence.

These are solid Challenger entry lists. Many of the players are familiar to those of us who diligently follow the Challenger trail...
Very interesting to find that Elias Ymer (who was supposed to be the Next Big Thing in tennis a year, and two years, ago) is now ranked below Yuki and RamK. Given that they will have supportive crowds behind them, I expect Yuki, RamK and Prajnesh to do very well in these Challengers.

This is what Karti Chidambaram had said when it was announced that Chennai open was being shifted to Pune -
So, it looks like ATP may not have allowed that to take place before the Pune week at the end of the year but is now being held in February.Karti however added, the TNTA has been assured of continued support from the State government to ensure the State continues to be one of the premier tennis centres in the country.
“We have had discussions with the government and they want us to hold international events and have assured us of their support,” said Karti Chidambaram, Vice-President, TNTA.
“We are planning to hold an ATP Challenger event, probably a week before the ATP 250 in Pune. I have spoken to the ATP also about this. All Indian players will be available and it will be helpful for them. There are also plans to hold a $25,000 WTA Futures event in the city.”
From a high of five Challenger events in 2014, India currently has only one Challenger tournament running in Pune. The city will play host to a Challenger this October for the fourth year in a row and an additional Challenger will do the Indian players a world of good.

Any idea if the qualies will take place on both Saturday and Sunday?
Anyone here planning to catch the qualifying live?

I think qualies will be held on Saturday and Sunday .
Organisers have announced the first 2 wild cards for Pune challenger to Arjun Kadhe and Aryan Goveas. The other 2 will be decided in the evening after the main draw list is updated

Unlikely on current form. I'd settle for Yuki and Ram K getting to the semis in both weeks maybe a semi and a final.

Sumit and Balaji make direct main draw acceptance. Albot, Ivashka and Doumbia withdrew.
