Re: $25K Pune ITF, Nov 6-12 2017
Superb dominating win by Zeel. Also Karman duly won her match in straight sets and justified her seeding.
[QF] (3) Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,310) d. (6) Ana VESELINOVIC (MNE,441) 62 75
Karman was 4-2 up in second set too and after that stuttered a bit as usual but in the end completed the win.
Next,
[SF] (WC) Zeel DESAI (IND,781) vs (2) Jaqueline Adina CRISTIAN (ROM,254)
[SF] (3) Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,310) vs. Bunyawi THAMCHAIWAT (THA,678)
On paper, looks an easier SF for Karman but Thai girl looks to be in great form having thrashed the top seed 63 61 in second round and winning her QF today by loss of 4 games too.

Terrific results today. I think this moves Zeel all the way up inside 620 to a career high ranking. Karman should move inside top-300 for the first time too. Very nice.
Zeel lost in the doubles semis though. She was the only Indian in the doubles semis.
[SF] Zeel Desai (IND)/ Bunyawi Thamchaiwat (THA) l. (3) Pei-Chi Lee (TPE)/ Yana Sizikova (RUS), 63 26 [2-10]

Wow! 2 very nice wins to wake up to. The Thai girl was beaten comfortably by Rutuja a couple of months ago. Hope Karman keeps it going. And Zeel as well

BTW does anyone know whether the entry list for the Mumbai 125K is out yet? All the other 125 tournaments that are scheduled during the same time (or before) are released like Hawaii, Hua Hin.

Hua Hin is being held this week. Still, with only 10 days to go, Mumbai WTA entry list would have been out by now. Unfortunately, for ATP and WTA tournaments, there is no official source from where one can view the entry lists like ITF.
So, till someone posts it one one of the forums we will not know. I think they get it using players login on ATP/WTA sites.
I remember Jay had that access earlier. Not sure if he still has that.

No, I don't have that access now. Several years ago, a player had given me access to the ATP site with his login and password, basically so that I could monitor entry lists and tell him to change plans in the last minute, or for him to call me to do a withdrawal or something in a crunch, in case he was stuck traveling somewhere and had no internet access. That was all. Yeah, we have to wait for somebody to post somewhere.

Difficult for me to digest these two results. Either they are taking some home advantage or some other factor/factors working from behind. Now I have to wait to see how they performs abroad later on. KKT serving on average 10 DF, not a good stat.

The old KarKaT beat Hercules. Here's to the new beating the Thai. I hope she does not lose focus or tire in the second set. But, if she falls back or loses focus, I hope the new one "claws" her way back like the old one.

So, anybody brave enough to predict an upset from Zelligator tomorrow over the 2nd seed?

The Romanian player is way too good to predict that upset. Hopefully, KKT won't let us down *fingers crossed*.

Zeel started strongly and got a double break up at 3-0 quickly but is now broken back and the second seed held. Now, Zeel up 3-2 still up a break.
Karman started with a hold and a break and leads 2-0 in the first set.
