I think Omkara knows what Ramked means but he might have posted that as a response to the actual match result. :-)

Actually, Omkara was the first one to use it and uses that term most frequently (~4 times, I think). Then vatsal and I think sameer/Jaydeep used it once or twice.

Instantly became an anti-fan of this Moez guy. Retiring at 5-2 in the third? That is totally unclassy, unless he was not even able to stand there to get 4 serves at him, or unable to hit 4 serves to the other side.
I think the habits have to be cultivated at a very young age. I was at a junior tournament recently and this kid retired down 0-6 1-5 (ad out). Retired with injury :) the parents didn't say a word and they all walked out after reporting the score. That kid is going to grow up RamK'ing every time he is down in a match...

Such a shame. Some body should tell these parents that the ability to take defeat is one of the left skill one needs to hone in sports

Can we please stop using the term "RamK'd" for players retiring late in the match? RamK did it once or twice, but it's been a long time since he last did it -- and instead has regularly shown his resilience and ability to fight. So we should drop that unfortunate term.

Me too. That was a long time ago. Probably he learned that it is a bad thing to do. Let us retire the term, until he does it again. I doubt whether he ever will.

I agree too. It's not fair to RamK.

Only Prajnesh won today. Bad loss for Jayesh.

[R2] (1) Prajnesh GUNNESWARAN (IND,227) 6-2 6-4 (Q) Lance-Pierre DU TOIT (RSA,1956)
[R2] Jayesh PUNGLIYA (IND,1094) 6-7 6-4 3-6 (Q) Hugo LARGO (ESP,1262)
[R2] Chandril SOOD (IND,1591) 1-6 2-6 (3) Pedja KRSTIN (SRB,276)

Up next,

[QF] (1) Prajnesh GUNNESWARAN (IND,227) vs Tom JOMBY (FRA,1202) - ranked 337 in 2015 and has upset the 6th seed this week.

Yep, agree. I am guilty of using that term as well. RamK works very hard and deserves our complete support.

Prajnesh is thru to SF.

[QF] (1) Prajnesh GUNNESWARAN (IND,227) 7-6 6-0 Tom JOMBY (FRA,1202). - PG served 10 aces in today's win.

Awaits the winner of Cem Ilkel (4th seed) versus Johan Sebastien Tatlot (7th seed).

Good win against a top 350 level player (he is ranked lower only because has has been injured).

Next,

[SF] (1) Prajnesh GUNNESWARAN (IND,227) vs. (7) Johan Sebastien TATLOT (FRA,570)

Another player who is better than his ranking shows. He was ranked 315 in 2015 and has been absent from the circuit for about 4-5 months this year. Since his return in June, he has reached 5 futures SF and won a title. Next 2 matches are going to be important for Prajnesh for big points which is why he travelled to Nigeria just for a week.
