Suraj had a tame loss against last week's champion.

At $15K Malaysia F3 Futures, Kuala Lumpur

[QF] (Q) Suraj R PRABODH (IND,1618) l. (4) Scott GRIEKSPOOR (NED,505) 16 16

So, overall not so good 3 weeks series here in Malaysia for our players. Only Arjun last week and Suraj this week made the QF's to salvage something for us.

Next week the series moves to Vietnam. No Indian in the main draw but a few Indians in qualifying notably Nitin Kumar Sinha. Hope Nitin has better success in Vietnam than Malaysia.

This week it was a washout for us in Vietnam F1. None of the 7 Indian players who played qualies could qualify for main draw ( including Nitin Kumar Sinha). Vasisht Cheruku made it to the main draw as a lucky loser but got swamped in first round 26 26. Sad that the young talents such as Nitin and Vasisht are still struggling to make it thru qualies at lowest level futures. We are still waiting for good young talents to come thru in boys after Sumit.

Next week Sasi will be among top 4 seeds in Vietnam F2. Strange to see him choosing this over playing qualies at Pune/Bengaluru challengers.

Not quite sure why you thought so. Pasha is ranked in the 600s, with a career-high of 592. The only sign of any unusual talent for this 25-year-old who is increasingly focusing on doubles is that he beat Andrew Whittington (AUS, 309; career-high 160) in a Futures in Australia last month.

Good to see Sasi despatching him without breaking a sweat.

That's a great win for Manish - bummer that he has to face Sasikumar. Arjun should be winning few many matches this year to reach top-600 by the end of the year (which was one of his goals).
