In the second set, RamK fell 2 breaks and 4-5 down, got 1 break back and then held his serve. But, Oftner held at 5-4 to take the set and the match.

At €589K European Open 2017, Antwerp, Belgium

[Q1] Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND,148) l. (6) Sebastian Ofner (AUT,141) 57 46

So, RamK's losing streak continues. He needs to look at this tactic of coming to the net on every serve.

Yuki qualified for the main draw with the straight sets win.

In the second set, Yuki was early break up, 4-2, but Vatutin broke him in the 8th game, 4-all ... Yuki immediately broke back Vatutin in next game, 5-4, and then hold to complete the victory.

At $746K VTB Kremlin Cup 2017, Moscow, Russia

[Q2] (4) Yuki Bhambri (IND,152) bt (5) Alexei Vatutin (RUS,183) 75 64

Yuki won. His motivation levels in atp tournaments are way higher. He needs to play more tour events. He would have lost this match for sure if played in a Challenger.

Recent results certainly indicate that he has lost motivation for the CH level grind.

And not just on the tour but also the DC where he took Shapo to 5 sets which is a top 60 level performance.

True, he has played 3 ATP qualifiers this year and qualified in all 3 of them - Chennai, Washington and now Moscow.

Hope like those 2 tournaments he can win at least a round in main draw.

He is facing local wild card player, Roman Safiullin, in the first round ... Roman also was a Junior Australian Open champion in 2015.

No one dare look at the draw. One. Match. At. A. Time.

12 points for qualifying and $7450 for the loser of first round. No doubt he is motivated

Good to see Yuki back to winning ways after a long-ish time -- effectively for the first time since the Davis Cup in Canada (apart from one retired opponent). He is 146 in the live rankings, edging back up to India #1.
I think Yuki has a very decent chance of making the QF or SF in this tournament. Dzhumur (the guy he beat in the Youth Olympic SF) is the potential R2 opponent. Kohlschreiber and Carreno-Busta are potential QF and SF opponents. Stay fit, and attack, has to be Yuki's strategy.

Nah...I think "Stay fit" is enough, PKB :D. When was the last time we ever saw him fit and not put up a great show? It almost never happened. Fitness has been the biggest bane of his career. If it weren't for his perpetually injured body, he would have at least played 20 grand slams by now and made it to a couple of QFs.
