Another series of tournaments start in Thailand starting tomorrow - 4 $15K's and 1 25K. If Thailand can host so many tournaments, why can't we ?

Anyway, few talented Indian players playing here.

This is the draw for first week -

[R1] Sowjanya BAVISETTI (IND,790) vs. (Q) Jia Qi REN (CHN,1171)
[R1] (4) Pranjala YADLAPALLI (IND,618) vs. (WC) Natthapat PIWBANGRUK (THA,NR)
[R1] (8) Zeel DESAI (IND,699) vs. Emma HURST (GBR,1061)
[R1] Sai Samhitha CHAMARTHI (IND,986) vs. Zhuoma NI MA (CHN,909)
[R1] Rishika SUNKARA (IND,989) vs. Mi Zhuoma YOU (CHN,998)
[R1] Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,743) vs. (WC) Natcharee TEERACHODJIRANON (THA,NR)

Zeel is playing her first pro tournament after 5 months. It will be interesting to see her progress now that she is done with her junior career. Also lets see how Pranjala and Rutuja do.

Mixed result for us today.

R1] (4) Pranjala YADLAPALLI (IND,618) d. (WC) Natthapat PIWBANGRUK (THA,NR) 60 60
[R1] (8) Zeel DESAI (IND,699) l. Emma HURST (GBR,1061) 57 36
[R1] Sai Samhitha CHAMARTHI (IND,986) d. Zhuoma NI MA (CHN,909) 63 63
[R1] Rishika SUNKARA (IND,989) l. Mi Zhuoma YOU (CHN,998) 06 06
[R1] Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,743) d. (WC) Natcharee TEERACHODJIRANON (THA,NR) 60 60

Pranjala and Rutuja won in a double bagle and Rishika lost in a double bagel. But, disappointing loss for Zeel. She was 5-1 up in the first set and looked to be cruising but suddenly lost 9 of the next 12 games. Not sure what happened after that. :-(

Surprising results in second round as Pranjala lost to a local qualifier but both Rutuja and Sai Samitha had excellent upset wins over high seeds to move thru to QF.

At $15K ITF Women, Hua Hin

[R2] (4) Pranjala YADLAPALLI (IND,618) l. (Q) Watsachol SAWASDEE (THA,NR) 26 67(4)
[R2] Sai Samhitha CHAMARTHI (IND,986) d. (3) Tori KINARD (USA,569) 63 61
[R2] Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,743) d. (2) Bunyawi THAMCHAIWAT (THA,547) 64 63

Strange results here as top seeded Serbian player is the only seed left here in the draw in the QF.

[QF] Sai Samhitha CHAMARTHI (IND,986) vs. Lulu SUN (SUI,1004)

[QF] Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,743) vs. Mi Zhuoma YOU (CHN,995)

Fantastic week for Rutuja Bhosale, who had reached 527 at the end of 2012 (when she was 16+), then went to Texas A & M. Let's hope she wins a dual crown here, having made the singles SF and doubles final!

Rutuja finished the last two years in college at #65 and #60 in singles rankings, so good performance by her overall but did not seem to progress much between the last two years. She is still 21 years old, so has youth on her side in this foray into the professional ranks.

Rutuja is in the final after beating Swiss girl Lulu in three sets ... After comfortably winning the first set Rutuja was up with early break in the second set .. But she failed to close it and Lulu broke back and won this set in the tie-break ... Rutuja recovered in the final set after 0-3 down ... She won the final six games in a row for completing excellent win.

[SF] Rutuja Bhosale (IND,743) bt Lulu Sun (SUI,1004) 61 67(3) 63

Excellent run by Rutuja. In her semi final, she was 4-2 up in the second set and seemed to be cruising to a win before she gave away that advantage and then was down 0-2 in the third set. It is great to see that she managed to get back from the low of those few games at the end of the second set and beginning of third.

Hope she takes care of the Taiwanese in the singles final.

May the better player in doubles final as our younger starts Pranjala and Zeel will be on the other side of the court.

Ok, that means she won 6 straight games from 0-3 down . That is great comeback after losing the second set from a winning position.
