And Rutuja wins the title by winning the final in a 3 setter. :D

At $15K ITF Women's Tournament 2017, Hua Hin, Thailand

[F] Rutuja Bhosale (IND,743) d. Hua-Chen Lee (TPE,708) 64 26 75

Rutuja was 5-2 up in the third set and allowed her opponent to come back to level it at 5-5 but thankfully won the next 2 games to close it out.

Doubles final to be played later today.

Rutuja couldn't win a double-crown there, as her compatriots Zeel Desai and Pranjala Yadlapalli beat Rutuja and her Aus partner 62 75 in the final.
Double crown for India at Hua Hin anyway!

Hopefully the youngsters get some confidence from that doubles title win. Next week it is going to be a tougher field. Both Pranjala and Zeel were seeded this week while next week they will not be as higher ranked players get in ahead of 25K tournament the week after that.

Rutuja is still only 21. Not quite as young as the 18 year olds Pranjala and Zeel, but young nonetheless.

Disappointing day today as everyone except Pranjala lost.

[Q3] (3) Nidhi CHILUMULA (IND,852) l. (15) Jiaxue ZANG (CHN,1121) 36 26
[Q3] (14) Rishika SUNKARA (IND,1052) l. Georgiana RUHRIG (AUS,NR) 06 26
[Q3] (7) Sai Samhitha CHAMARTHI (IND,986) l. Elaine GENOVESE (MLT,1224) 46 06

[R1] Zeel DESAI (IND,695) l. (4) Yue YUAN (CHN,457) 76(5) 26 26

[R1] Pranjala YADLAPALLI (IND,618) d. Aiko YOSHITOMI (JPN,687) 61 64

Last couple of weeks have been set back of sorts for Zeel losing in first round in both weeks. She has played too few tournaments this year and needs to play more now to get back to her peak form.

Rutuja and Natasha won their matches today.

[R1] Natasha PALHA (IND,755) d. (Q) Watsachol SAWASDEE (THA,NR) 75 26 76(6)
[R1] Sowjanya BAVISETTI (IND,787) l. (5) Ching-Wen HSU (TPE,510) 46 06
[R1] Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,738) d. (8) Ao GAI (CHN,557) 57 60 64

Good comeback by Rutuja to beat a Chinese seed and Natasha saved a couple of match points in the third set tie break against the qualifier who had reached QF last week.

So, 3 Indians in the second round.

[R2] Natasha PALHA (IND,755) vs. (1) Julia GLUSHKO (ISR,292)
[R2] Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,738) vs. (Q) Jiaxue ZANG (CHN,1121)
[R2] Pranjala YADLAPALLI (IND,618) vs. (2) Jia-Qi KANG (CHN,346)

Tough matches against top 2 seeds for Natasha and Pranjala.

Yes, only Rutuja went thru to the QF although gave a decent fight to the second seed.

[R2] Natasha PALHA (IND,755) l. (1) Julia GLUSHKO (ISR,292) 26 26
[R2] Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,738) d. (Q) Jiaxue ZANG (CHN,1121) 63 64
[R2] Pranjala YADLAPALLI (IND,618) l. (2) Jia-Qi KANG (CHN,346) 67(7) 67(4)

Next,

[QF] Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,738) vs. Hua-Chen LEE (TPE,707)

Repeat of last week's final which Rutuja won in 3 close sets. The Taiwanese girl upset the third seed in the second round.

This week Rutuja had a tame loss against the Taiwanese player whom she had beaten in the final last week.

At $15K ITF Women, Hua Hin

[QF] Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,738) l. Hua-Chen LEE (TPE,707) 16 26

It does seem she was exhausted after playing lots of singles and double matches in last 2 weeks.
. It happens to most of the Indian players.
