Sidhant Banthia Is a very over hyped player who has failed to live up to the promise he showed when he was 13. Nice to see Nitin bounce back from his disappointing performance in New York.

Do we really have to talk about our junior players like this? How well do you think that someone's sentiment affect when they read statements like these that hasn't even turned 18? It's fine if you want to support or take one's side saying they have not received enough support or attention from the sports authorities but how does that make another one guilty/open to criticism? If you feel like you are left out, knock on the doors of your own sports federation and seek support *shrug*.
This above post is completely asinine and uncalled for.

Not at all.
Some of them are actually better off pursuing off education or a vocational skill.
I haven't followed Banthia's career in particular to make that call.

Re: $15K India F7,F8,F9 futures, Chennai, Coimbatore-September 2017
Sidhant Banthia has been poorly handled since he won the Road to Wimbledon when he was 13-14. The meaning of that tournament was a misnomer, because I'm not sure how Sidhant actually benefited from that title. But it showed that the kid had great talent -- beating an international field of players. But he has been poorly handled, and his progress has been a huge disappointment. He has another year in the junior ranks, and hopefully someone will take him in hand and enable him to achieve more of his potential.

Re: $15K India F7,F8,F9 futures, Chennai, Coimbatore-September 2017
I think the field in that tournament was not really international, restricted to players from Britain and 2-3 other Asian nations. So, while it was great that he won, it did not in any way indicate that Siddhanth was one of the better talents in the world at that age group. His results in team competitions also did not indicate that.
So, I think his performance at under 18 level with current junior ranking of 63 is on par with that. Nitin Kumar Sinha is probably a better player who got lesser opportunities earlier.

Yes, first 2 weeks he lost against eventual winner so tomorrow's his match against Colin Van Beem (who was the finalist in both) will tell us more about his progress.
