Taking a closer look at KU's results in past few months, he has made the QF in 6 tournaments since June. So, he has not been entirely unsuccessful. Only, he has been struggling at later stages of the tournaments which could be due to endurance issues. This week he has gone 1 step further and hopefully will go further.

He has also made the doubles final along with Thai Pruchya Isrow.

KU lost in straight sets in semi finals.

At $15K Thailand F5 Futures , Nothanburi

[SF] Karunuday SINGH (IND,689) l. Kuan Lee (TPE,627) 06 36

Kuan Lee is a man in form as he won the title last week too. Still, expected a better performance by KU in this match.

He also lost in the doubles final.

Next week we have a bigger contingent playing here with Sasi , VSP and Siddharth Rawat joining KU and Rishab in the main draw. Saketh has withdrawn from here. :-(

VSP completed win within 10 mins when KU retired after playing only 3 games ... Hopefully, no serious injury issue for KU ... Sid scored expected win over local wild-card player ... Next, he is facing junior top-25 Aussie player, Blake Ellis ... Surprised loss of Sasi in the two tie-breaks against Taipei qualifier.

[R1] (6) N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth (IND,502) bt Karunuday Singh (IND,690) 3-0 retd.

[R2] (7) Sidharth Rawat (IND,505) vs (Q) Blake Ellis (AUS,1386)
[R2] (6) N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth (IND,502) vs Jumpei Yamasaki (JPN,649)

Sasi's progress has been disappointing this year. With all the support from TNTA, I was expecting him to scale to higher territory by now and eventually go the way RamK has. From what I have seen, he has the game to do that but is losing to all kind of players on the ITF circuit.

I am still looking for second tier of talented players to follow Yuki, RamK, Sumit trio who can take our mens tennis forward. Sasi at 20 years is the youngest in our top 10 after Sumit. After that in our top 15 there is 21 year old Rishab Agarwal who showed some real promise last year but seems to have been hit by injuries and 19 year old Aryan Goveas. Hope some of these in next 3-4 years can come upto top 300 level to start with.

VSP through to the finals of the Thai Futures , and will face 652 ranked Australian Jacob Grills for the Title.
In the semis started well swamping his opponent 6-1 and after a bit of scare in teh second , came back strongly with a break to seal a 6-1,6-7,6-3 win.

Could this be his breakthrough year and reach his logical place in the 200's , It has been a long time waiting ever since he showed tremendous promise and form in the Chennai Qualies couple of years ago where he scalped season ATP players but lost the plot primarily to haphazard scheduling ,
Choice of tournaments and schedule planning is the key for any player to succeed.

Hopefully he gets this title and the Indian Futures should help him climb the ladder to reach the 200 plus range

Ronit joined Texas Tech Tennis a couple of years back and played for them last year. Did not have too much success it seems. But, he would a couple of years left there. So, would be looking at how he progresses there.

And VSP goes on to reach the final.

At $15K Thailand F6 2017, Nonthaburi

[SF] (6) N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth (IND,502) d. Pruchya Isaro (THA,969) 61 67(4) 63

This is first futures final for VSP after 2015 when he had won 3 futures titles and risen to a career high singles ranking of 335.

Next,

[F] (6) N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth (IND,502) vs. Jacob Grills (AUS,652)

VSP beat Grills in straight sets in Singapore futures in June. Hope he repeats the result.
