Vishnu started well in the singles match with a service hold and 3 break point chances off Albot's serve and not only he squandered those multiple BPs but gifted the whole match making it an icing on the cake for his opponent.

Also, looks like Vishnu has started playing with sunglasses, like Shvedova.

Good win by Yuki to follow up a good performance on the ATP tour (as sometimes he hasn't done well in tournaments following a good run).

Good to see fight by Sumit against basically a top 100 player. The rest of the Indians who played do seem a little over matched at the challenger level although Sasi Mukund put up a decent fight as well. Hopefully, Prajnesh can get a win...

Abish arul wrote: Tue Oct 24, 2017 2:40 pm I watched the full match sumit was spraying the shots all over the court in the first set in the latter half of the second set he absolutely demolished youzny with his groundstrokes(the Vietnam commentator who is commentating the match is all praising nagal that he has a top 100 potential) but he ran out of steam in the latter stages of final set.he has a tremendously improved in his backhand going toe to toe with youzny. The only question is his height which is still hampering his serve but he is placing his serve quite well in the second and third set and his serve motion looks like a bit flawed like yuki he is not putting enough body weight on his serve and he needs to hop a little bit more.and those who haven't seen the match its in YouTube(in channel-vtf media)
Thanks for the link to youtube....I like Sumit's potential. He looks like a mini-Ferrer - he should learn from Ferrer's matches as even their serve style is similar. Ferrer has a lot more spin, and he can serve aces even with his limited height. I hope he still can grow an inch or two..it will make a big difference. Strength and running capability will get better if he is a hard-working guy..I did get that impression and hope he is able to fulfill his promise. Forehands, backhands, volleys, overheads etc all look good...but he needs to develop a more attacking forehand as well. He has a good inside-out too.

Yuki was up 4-0, but Ti Chen has just held serve for the first time. 4-1, first set.

Yuki wins the first set, after one hiccup (being broken). But he breaks Ti Chen again at 5-3, to take the first set 6-3 (so he will serve first in the second set).

[R2] 4-Yuki Bhambri (IND, 142) d. Ti Chen (TWN, 325) 63 61

Yuki breaks Ti Chen in the second game of the second set. 2-0
Yuki holds at 30. 3-0
Yuki breaks Ti at 15. 4-0. One glorious down the line passing shot from YB after a 7 shot rally. Otherwise poor play from Ti Chen (incl a DF).
Yuki holds after being down 15-40, then one Deuce and hold. 5-0
Ti Chen holds after two Deuces. 5-1
Yuki holds after one Deuce; the final shot was a beautiful drop volley. 6-1

Yuki edges up to 138 in the live rankings. Prajnesh is at 274 after today's win.

Yes, this will be a tough test for Yuki having lost to him a couple of weeks ago. Millman was a solid top 75 player last year before he went out of the tour for 6-7 months (from November 2016 to May 2017 - probably due to injury). Since coming back, he has made the 3rd round of the US Open and also a challenger final but otherwise hasn't necessarily played at a top 75 level. Nevertheless, he is quite a bit better than his current #218 ranking.

Good luck to Yuki who seems to be in good form with 2 easy wins (as has Millman), so he'll have to play near his best to win...

Jeevan hasn't done much after his Chennai open win. A few challenger final and last week. That puts his top 100 rank highly vulnerable
