Yes, Yuki has every reason to assume that he will get the wild card but until it is officially announced usually players keep their names in the qualifying entry list. Perhaps, in case he does not get the wild card he may want to reserve a chance to take a wild card in Doha ( which cannot be ruled out). He will not be able to use that option if he puts his name in qualifying entry list in Pune.

But, I hope that situation does not arise and he gets the main draw wild card at Pune.

Also, I wonder whether last year's doubles finalists from Chennai (Rohan/Jeevan and Divij/Purav) are possibly thinking of pairing up again for this year's Tata Open. Purav is now Leander's regular partner, Divij hasn't settled on a regular partner and Jeevan too is a floater on the doubles tour.

WC's announcement would be traditionally done a week before the tournament , and probably we could well be been seeing a departure from the past and Indians will bag all the 3 WC's and to those who would have missed out , could be accommodated for Doubles WC's , Qualies WC.

Rajiv, do you have any "inside information" for the inference about Indians bagging all the wildcards? IMG is still the key organiser, and they have traditionally kept at least one wildcard for a "promising foreigner" or some other odd pick.

With the way, MSLTA gives away wildcards on the ITF circuit to local players, I wouldn't be surprised to see Arjun Kadhe in Main Draw

I won't complain, because it is much much better than giving it to some foreigner also-ran. Actually, as long as our two top-150 players are in the draw, I am kinda okay with any decent Indian for the third spot. Sumit, Prajnesh, Saketh, etc deserve it most, but at least Arjun has done promisingly well in the few months he has played the pro circuit recently.

I am ok with it as long as other 2 wild cards go Yuki and RamK. It will be not too bad too if they give second one to Sumit ahead of RamK. RamK has got lots of wild cards year after year at Chennai.

But, still have a feeling that one wild card will go to a foreigner- either Benoit Paire who seems to have missed entering or someone else. And also Arjun will get the third wild card ahead of RamK.

The doubles entry list came out. Rohan and Jeevan are defending their title. Leander and Purav are continuing their partnerships as are Divij and Lipsky. These are the 5 Indian players in the doubles main draw. Balaji and Vishnu are in alternates in the list.
