wow these are some really bad results from RamK.
I hope this doesn't ding his ranking. Note that he has played for a long continuous stretch before culminating with the Canada DC tie. So he may be feeling the effects and experiencing a letdown. Lets hope it is only that - if he needs to recoup then perhaps taking some time off in Nov-Dec before the AO may be a good strategy..that way he will be fresh with the new year and AO (if he qualifies in that is). I think I read that he may not make the AO cutoff?
RamK can still make it though by getting inside or close to top 100 in next 2 months. He will need around 170 points to do that. Will need a challenger title or two.

If you mean the main draw then you have no chance with a ranking of 150
No i am asking about the qualies
This year he was 1 out when he was 248th so getting into the qualies won't be an issue. Generally <220 gets you into the qualies comfortably. Should be aiming for the main draw though. <120 and there is a chance.
Also, being inside 145 or so would get you a seeding in the grand slam qualies, which makes the qualifying path (as well as a lucky loser path) easier.
Prajnesh broke Dancevic in game 7 of the first set. But he was quickly down 0-40. Saved two BPs and fell at the third. All even at 4-4, first set... Got broken twice in games 8 and 10 and Prajnesh lost the set 4-6.
Our man is up a break at 3-1 in the second though.
Takes the second set 6-4...
And is up a break in the 3rd 2*-1....
83% first serves in till now.definately he is the better player ryt now on the court...as dancevic looks completely out of answers
Looks a no way losing position from here on
Although he too banks a lot on his forehand like ramk but luckily he doesnt slices the ones on the backhand
Gets some good power behind his backhand too....
Smart and regular scheduling would see somewhere around 175-200 range at the year end rankings!!!!
46 64 54 and serving for the match... Argh, 0-30. Come on man... Good, 30-30 ... 30-40 BP ... deuce ... AD in, MP ... GOT IT!!! Great win.
[QF] Prajnesh Gunneswaran (IND,242) d. Frank Dancevic (CAN, 356) 46 64 64
That was a tough customer that Prajnesh just beat. Dancevic has so many top-200 wins this year and is somewhat under-ranked. It is pretty rare for Indians to reach the SF of a men's challenger in the USA. Only our top guys have managed to do it. This is terrific.
Woohoo... Must say, he is a really pleasing to watch ala Saki - very good first serve / forehand, good power on the backhand though not a weapon by an means - he was clearly the better player on the court today for the last two sets that I watched. I hope all our big guys (Yuki, Ram, Praj, Saki/Sumit) stay fit for the Indian leg of the Challengers, they could do some real damage then
