This one is an impressive victory for Pranjala. It appears she has improved her serve & game. Unlike many other Indian players Pranjala is under-ranked and she should make a jump in the ranking very soon. I think right now Pranjala is ahead of KKT. She has won a title recently on the other hand Karman is yet to win a 15K title.
Btw where is Karman this week? Coaching Center i guess!

Excellent win by Dhruti. She beat top 500 player Al Nabhani a couple of weeks back and now the Thai top seed. Her game seems to have progressed well.

Dinesh, if you watched the match, how does she play ? I have never seen her play.

Great to see 20-year-old Dhruti upset the top seed this week at Nonthaburi -- having done the same thing in Hua Hin (to Fatma al-Nabhani) three weeks ago. She also had a good win over Ksenia Palkina (career-high in the 160s) at Namangan in June. So Dhruti is beginning to make serious headway.

She is also in the doubles QF (partnering Kanika Vaidya).

What an astonishingly high quality field, especially for the qualifying rounds. Pretty amazed to see so many Indian girls playing in Thailand -- but I suppose many Indians realise that Bangkok is closer to eastern India than many cities in India are from there.

True and this year there are very few tournaments in India for Women. ( only 2 till date). So, they have no option but to find the nearest available places to go and play.

Disappointing losses for Kanika and Dhruti in particular after the heroics last week. But, excellent upset win by Natasha over last week's champion.
