Ok, RamK gets a walkover over the local player who upset seventh seed Delic in second round.

[QF] Ramkumar RAMANATHAN (IND) [1] Walkover Anil YUKSEL (TUR)

Will mostly run against former top 200 player (who is now ranked 381) Dusan Lojda in the SF.

Lojda got upset in QF.

Next,

[SF] (1) Ramkumar RAMANATHAN (IND,228) vs. (WC) Alex MOLCAN (SVK,1044)

17 year old Molcan is current top 20 junior but RamK should really win this.

RamK has also reached the doubles final with his partner.

RamKed does appear to be the right word for this.

RamK came back and won the doubles title here with his partner. Why did he withdraw from singles than ? Because he wanted to get back to bangalore tomorrow ? :D

RamK needs an etiquette coach. His Spanish trainers have really not taught him some of the basics of how to behave on court -- retiring a few games before defeat is one terrible habit, and over-celebrating (especially when playing team-mates and compatriots) is another that needs to be curtailed.

This guy shouldnt be playing futures anymore. Play challengers, try to get into top 150 before end of 2017, or he should consider doing something else with his life. If I was his coach, he would be crawling in the dirt for a week for this act.

RamK is playing these futures to protect his ranking as has a lot of points to defend for rest of the year. It seems he does not have the confidence to do that playing challengers which is not surprising considering his performances at challenger level this year. He has played 12 challengers this year and has gone past second round (QF) in only 2 of them and never beyond QF. So, he has no option but to mix up some futures till he starts going deep regularly at challenger level or at least 1-2 challenger breakthru performance like Saketh had of late. The points earned at these futures will at least allow him to play grand slam qualies although that attempt was not entirely successful at these 2 futures in Turkey.

I think another way of doing it would have been to keep playing the challengers as long as he has the ranking. When the ranking goes down and he does not get direct entries into the challengers he can play the futures.
