Thank God Nitten Kirtane* is out in the first round -- for a long time he used to win a round or two in such tournaments reflecting negatively on the emerging players.

* I have nothing against Nitten Kirtane.

Sriram Balaji and Prerna Bhambri have won the titles here.

SF-

Sriram Balaji bt Mohit Mayur 7-6(4), 6-4
Vishnu Vardhan bt V.M. Ranjeet 6-4, 7-6(4).

Prerna Bhammbri bt Snehadevi Reddy 6-0, 6-3
Sai Samhitha bt Pranjala Yadlapalli 5-7, 6-1, 6-4.

F -

Sriram Balaji bt Vishnu Vardhan 7-5 6-3

Prerna Bhammbri bt Sai Samhitha 6-0 6-1

This is the first national title for Balaji while I think this is fourth consecutive title for Prerna.

Yes, she should have continued in Thailand as Karman has done instead of coming back for nationals. If she is supported by her state tennis association, they might have insisted on her playing nationals. The prize money is attractive too ( I think Rs, 3 lakhs for title winner).
