US OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011

US Open begins from 29 Aug..The Singles MD will be out tonight(thursday noon in NYC)..
Both Sania and Somdev will once again spearhead the Indian challenge at the year's final grandslam..
Sania will also play doubles with Vesnina..Indian Express and Indo-Pak express will also be there..lots to look forward in Doubles especially from the Indian express as they are back in form winning ATP 1000 Masters in Cincinnati last week with some great wins including the win over Bryan bros..
Any idea on whether Somdev will play doubles and MXD Teams here???

Not exactly my favourite grand slam...
But excited nonetheless. Som hardly played and Sania hardly won this summer. Bops out of shape too. BUT WILL WATCH FOR THE INDIAN EXPRESS !!!

Can we expect any juniors to take part in the championships or will it be another grand slam where we wonder what has happened to our young boys and girls.

Folks. I need a list of players who are representing India. That includes the juniors too. I know offcourse all the seniors would be involved. But I will be there in NY on each day, so would love to attend every match whichever an Indian plays. Even juniors.

Hopefully Hurricane, which is in the news rite now, stays away.

So Sania has the toughest draw of the US open she has played so far
She has been drawn against Peer in round 1 of US open
This is the worst draw we can ask for
I am 99% sure Sania will loose..But i will still support Sania to win even its 1 % possibility
Very tough draw Nothing to expect from her though

Actually i'm pretty happy..i always wanted her to play Peer..
Sania owns Peer..remember in 2009 she lost 6-0, 6-0 at US open and then did not do well in Tokyo and Beijing bt still managed to beat Peer in Osaka..
Only thing Sania should not self destroy..
Peer too has been in such bad form..she is the easiest seed Sania could have got n Sania usually plays well here..so Sania!!!

I have seen sania play,She is really very rusty..She played very poor in Dallas...But I hope she can give peer some run to her money,Don't have too much hope for sania...I will definately not go to US open this year..i don't want to see sania loosing again and again
I can hope for this score 3-6 4-6 loss of Sania..Sania has to play at 110% to match against peer..one of the great retrivers of Womens tennis
She is not an easy opponent by any means...Sania has to find consistency
I also Hope this match to be telecasted live..As peer is a seed and do well in US open like Sania
Tough To see Sania R1 loss
It will be hard to swallow for all of us

Sania has an excellent record (4-1) against Peer. The only time she lost to her was in their very first meeting way back in 2005, when both of them were similarly ranked (Sania-64 vs Peer-62). She won all 4 meetings thereafter. Even though they haven't played since 2009, during their last 3 matches Peer was ranked much higher than Sania. I still think it's a good first round for Sania...way better than drawing any other seed.

i have seen Peer play in Cincinnati and Dallas,She is much better in shape than Sania..So its going to tough...Very Tough..We will see who prevails

I am actually excited about seeing Somdev play these big guns. It's disappointing perhaps in a way, but at same time very intriguing. Can't wait for Somdev's match.

easiest seedto play...all depends on sania's will to win...they both have been in pretty bad form so difficult to choose a winner
if not wrong sania never won against seeded player in singles grandslam...letz hope she does it this time...
and even if she wins 1st round...second round against salaone stevens will be very tough...
she defending around 160 points...so important she atleast wins 1st rd

Though for a change this time i am interested in somdev's match more...hope he gives ANDY MURRAY a run for his money
to all the indians...
